    Backyard Bunny

Between bunnies and puppies, my green babies are struggling this year! If they would stick to grass and weeds I'd be happy lol

What's the weather in your area? 2022 Edition

It's been hot and rainy....which makes a great steam bath lol I ran out in-between rain showers to take care of some weeds and slide on my rear as the grass was still wet.

The Pros And Cons Of Deadheading

Deadheading has always been a "as I have time" garden task. Honestly, I've never had a plant die from lack of deadheading so that puts it at a low priority. The biggest motivator for me is preventing prolific reseeding.

    True Confessions of Gardeners

Ok so most of us who have been gardening a while know there's the "by the book" way and then there's the way it actually goes down in spite of what all the experts say. I though it would be fun to start a thread of "True Confessions of Gardeners" where we can share and let those who are newer...

What's the weather in your area? 2022 Edition

We had a few t-storms over the weekend. Cramped my gardening efforts a bit. The random storms will continue the next couple of days. Temps are high 70's to low 80's which would be ideal but for the storms lol. Oh yes, puppies get horrible cabin fever when they can't go run off energy outside!

    What annuals do you like?

I mainly use annuals in my hanging baskets and pots. Not so much in my garden beds. I have thrown out seeds to fill in while I wait for my perennials to fill in.

What's the weather in your area? 2022 Edition

We’re supposed to get above 80 today, which makes me happy. We’ll have 20 mph winds, which makes me not quite as happy lol. It’s pretty typical for Spring around here though. Made my first trek of the year to the garden center to pick up some hanging basket supplies. I was skunked on plants (a...

    What annuals do you like?

I love zinnias. They’re so drought tolerant and bees and hummers love them too. I switched from petunias to geraniums in my containers on my deck as they handle hot dry conditions better. One fav of mine is gazanias and they’re hard to find around my area.
