I grow lots and lots of the not so good stuff. Our neighbors had a very close call last summer they got a new puppy a mini something. We all knew the puppy kept digging under the fence on to my side but whatever it wasnt doing any harm dirt is easy to replace and our dog digs on our side a sleeping spot when it is hot out. Then the puppy got sick and noone had any clues. then about a week or two later when the puppy was better it was outside and I happened to notice my plants moving around. He was digging under the fence and eating my brugmansia. So I dug up my brugs and potted them in big pots and moved them away from the area where the puppy was digging. I don't know what we are goign to do this year though the only sun we get is along this fence line. I hope we get a new house before summer

I have yet to find anything that my dogs won't eat. They eat bananas, oranges, lettuce, and so on. They eat hot peppers too but only because they don't want the other one to get it. They will eat anything we do. The only picky eater that is in the family is our Turtle (Soup). He will eat tomatoes and worms year round but will only eat strawberries and peaches when in season. Those are the only 4 things that he will eat. I tried all the greens that turtles are supposed to eat, he will look at them turn around and go back into his house.

My dog was eating cauliflower last night. She will eat anything I tell her to.

I just planted a large container of Habs just to make spray out of. I put them in a container so they could be on my back deck and away from my sweet peppers in the front yard. Maybe they won't cross if they do I will be giving away hot peppers! :p

Our kitties like pumpkin. Every time we open a can at our house they think that it is "Tuna Thursday", one time I was making a pumpkin pie and Coalie was begging like crazy for what she thought was tuna, so I gave her some pumpkin and she just loved it.

crabber my dog loves all kinds of veggies. he eats celery and carrots with me for a snack, he eats lettuce, beans, cauliflower, broccoli, so far we haven't found anything he won't eat. But he is not a veggie head. He really likes his meat. and oh my god he loves nuts. as you know peacans grow well here and they have some at the park. I have a time walking him when the nuts fall from the tree.

Lyn,
That is funny. Now my guys will eat all the stuff too but this one dog gave that pot of hot peppers a hard time before they ever fruited. So I repalnted it ( how ironic is this) so I could make bug spray from the peppers and the cut worms got in the bucket. Grrrrr.

Thanks I have read through and there some pretty funny, yet very frustrated stories in here. I'm laughing and crying with you guys. I did not even think of the wild dog pack running around as a possible culprit...hmmm. I might just go get some cheap lumber and build a mini greenhouse out back since I'm a painter and I have plenty of plastic sheeting. But this spray seems to be what I needed and I thank you for the recipe and pointers.

Cool! I love spreading the organic word! Especially when it's this easy and really works. Being a hab grower you should have not trouble getting them ;)

The pepper spray works because every year I think I will get some mixed up and ready but the little pests usually are there before I do that. I will not need as much as I'm not putting in much this spring as I"m going on my vacation and will think about gardening when I get back. I hate to plant things and then be gone 2 weeks and they die. or something drastic happens while I"m gone. like 2 years ago when my tree fell down the day before our vacation.
