After decades of growing arugula in raised beds, mounded rows, and containers, I’ve found that consistent watering, feeding, and pest prevention are key to keeping plants healthy from seedling to harvest. Here’s how to give arugula the care it needs through every stage of the growing season.


Watering​

  • Consistency is critical: Keep soil evenly moist, never allowing it to dry out completely. Dry soil stresses plants and triggers early bolting (flowering).
  • Method: Use a gentle spray or drip irrigation to avoid splashing leaves, which can spread disease.
