Soursop is a low-branching, bushy tree that actually originated from Central America. The scientifically name is Annona muricata and the English name is soursop. It is also called guanabana in El Salvador and other Spanish-speaking countries. The soursop plant tree can grow up to twenty-five to thirty feet tall and it produces an oval-shaped fruit with tender yellow-green skin and white, juicy flesh that can be made into drinks, sherbet, preserves and sweets.
