Looks like Centaurea but not with the foliage!
Also looks like Stoke's Aster, but again not with the foliage!

Ron they do look like Centaurea except the foliage.
Thanks for trying.
I couldn't find my post from a while back, but I thought now it was in bloom someone might know.
I do think it is a perennial it came up in a pot a friend gave me

type of corn flower???

They don't all have the same type of foliage. Did you google it and look for images similar to yours?

I knew it was a Centaurea!
it looked so familiar but just couldn't find the right cultivar/hybrid!
It is Centaurea hypoleuca with very similar divided foliage!
