I had to bring my houseplants in from the front porch late yesterday (due to freezing temps.) and I noticed a little wren kept flying across and landing on the windows. She acted so upset and I couldn't figure ouy why. Well I decided to water my plants and found a little nest with 2 tiny eggs in my biggest cactus and I knew then why she was so upset. I couldn't put the cactus back out until it warmed up this morning. I have been watching to see if she went back on her nest. I saw her late today with something in her mouth. I sure hope she went back to her eggs.
My little wren went back to her eggs.

That is so cool Maggie!
The eggs may not hatch since they were not sat on for such a long period of time!
If they do not the wrens will lay more eggs!

I had a pair of wrens nest in a box of bone meal on my front porch at our last house. I noticed a cat that had seen the birds, so I picked up the box and fixed a mount on the wall above the cat's ability to jump. The birds didn't hesitate to come back to the nest then either and I had it up on the wall in a matter of minutes.
I think little wrens are so cute and their nest is so little. It's more like a small tunnel and hard to see down in it. I could just barely see the eggs.
