Sharing a few thing's I have blooming.Which is'nt much to dry everything's drying up.Hopefully we will get a shower this weekend. But I have a Confederate Rose Hibiscus blooming it's full of bud's.And the Spider Lily's are beginning to pop up over night almost.
In my zone 9 I don't usually bring mine in but just to be safe take them in. I lost my beautiful yellow hibiscus last year with the freeze we got, so when I get another one I will be bring it in. I am glad the seeds did well for you.
Dor I'm in zone 8.I will bring them in.I want them to live and do well next summer. They are about 2-3 ft.tall.I don't think it would be to cold here but not taking any chance's.
My Texas Stars do fine outside and last year we had the coldest winter since some crazy date. Anyway it froze many days in a row lats year and the TS are fine but my others did not do so well. I even lost my double peach hibiscus If you don't get snow or if your frost ine is not very deep they would be ok in the ground.
I have Texas Star seeds if anyone wants some. Just let me know
I don't think their the same thing. These grow tall one is almost touching the lower part of the roof of our house. These don't make seed.Take by cutting's.
Brugs are the tropical version of temporate Daturas!
They are also genetically different!
Brugs will produce seed...but...they do not come true from seed and eventually revert back to the basic white or cream color!
All named cultivars are started from cuttings...clones, of clones.....!
Datura cultivars do come true from seed and you can easily cross pollenate to create your own!
My favorite is the double purple!
The scent is a bit of heaven!
They form tubers that can be brought inside and stored overwinter in colder zones!
9 in my area I usually do not put mine, but for safety reasons they are in. I lost the beautiful yellow hibiscus, last year we froze, so when I get another one, I put it in. I am pleased to seed for you Very well.
