I have a spot in the yard I want to plant them in but one problem, can I keep the vine trim so they don't run all over the yard, but still have potatoes too. Hubby say find out before I plant them.Any help welcome.

Lisa don't think that is a good idea. The vine is where the nutrients come from. Can you not turn the runners back into the designated area? That is what I would do to keep the vines contained to a certain area.

Sweet potatoes do good on trellis too. You can train them up and then back down and back up and so on. Besides the flowers are beautiful!
