HOLY COW! Are they OSTRICHES? Curbie

Randy, that was so gracious of you to offer your garden. I just received some spearmint from someone. I am trying to root it. Does that work? MTM said last night,"WOW! SOMEthing smells REALLY GOOD in here!" uh...it's the spearmint. I really don't know what to make with spearmint. Any ideas? I...

I really have never met anyone who can grow celery. I was yelling to MTM this morning,"WE need a CELERY patch!" He looked at me like I was nuts. We have 1/4 acre and it's mostly fleurs. The garden looks lovely, CG! Keep up all of yours and hubby's good work! Curbie

THIS is AWESOME! How large is your yard? DOes your hubby help with it? GORgeous! SIMply GORgeous!Curbz

Nothing like a danged animal! At least they're vegetarians! :) Curbz

What about planting cucumbers? Curbz

My grandma could grow asparagus in her tiny yard. The ferns were used in flower arrangements and we'd eat the 'aspergrass', as she called it. I THINK it takes a good clay soil (that's all we had in Pittsburgh). SO, good luck, CG! Curbz

THIS is AWESOME! Thanks ,Ron! I AM GETTING an ARTICHOKE! However, since the Earth rotates, I'm really not sure where to plant it. I'm going to work on this new project! I'm excited. I've been trying to grow an avocado plant. I'm not very good at it. Nobody has sprouted. Maybe I should stick with...

Thanks, Ron. I'm trying to find a picture of the plant but coming up empty. What do they taste like? Don't you have to squoosh them between your teeth? I'm telling you, I know nothing about these. :) Curbz
-
Well, Ron, how does the artichoke develop? WHERE does it develop? At the bottom? How old do they have to be to harvest? Can you tell I am on a STEEP learning curve? :) Curbster
-
I don't know what an artichoke plant looks like. I ♥ ♥ ♥ yukon gold potatoes and those little red ones. Can't say I've ever seen a potato in the ground though. I know you can grow the top part in water. Nasturiums are not only pretty in the yard ~they really are edible. I love them.MTM always...

That would be great CG b/c in PA, they have MANY of them. There are always 3 blades on them and they are VERY tall. Navigational hazard. How tall is the BOAT? Where are these 'hazards' placed? People want inexpensive energy ( instead of say, gasoline) and 'they' can't understand that ELECTRICITY...

I should grow more veggies but I really have an established garden and it's all.......fleurs. Curbie

Those wind turbines weigh a LOT and have to be postioned at exactly the right places but they create electricity. We have a gas pipleline that runs way down to somewhere right outside out t/h. We can hear the rumbles of gas going through it. 'They' usually release it during the night. It's kind...
-
What's a wind turbine? Is it those huge 'pinwheels' (3 blades) we see on our way to PA? I thought those were energy efficient. What would cause the health concerns over the 'pinwheels'? Would it be the pesticides or whatever is used on the farms? MTM and I got in this discussion the other night...

I have an opinion about this b/c we see polar bears floating on icebergs on commercials. Al Gore made it popular. I'm like you, Ron. I think (I am NO expert so bear with me) the more we go solar power the better off we'd be. MTM and I are fortunate that the sun provides that power. But I wonder...

Did I take a wrong turn somewhere? Hey we had such a nice time yesterday. I caved in and we went to my nephew's house to watch the Master's. Golf is boring but there were a LOT of kids there so I had a great time. My nephew's wife couldn't watch the end. MTM had Oosthuizen and I had BUBBA...

MarkyMark ~ I kind of got lost in your thought process. I don't think we do talk politics. Maybe I'm wrong. If ANYBODY could get kicked off of here, trust me....it would be me. Randy knows so much about fruit trees (CrabberGirl) and I'm sure many more. I know a little bit about vegetables but I...

I'm glad I'm not the only person confused. This lady called today and said,"We are discontinuing your Bank of America card." Doesn't matter to me b/c I don't HAVE one! I had NO CLUE what she was talking about.I was having a conversation about......nothing. I kept saying,"OK" "OK" "OK" "OK" I...
