    OWWW Crabber, that's an awful thing to have happen to you! I don't know that daylight would make a whole lot of difference when the fight or flight syndrome kicks in, though. With a bear behind me I probably would crash through a building without so much as a thought!

    Happy happy joy joy! The rose the dog drug across the property and bare-rooted for me is recovering nicely. A little damage but there are 3 rosebuds coming on. I'm happy about that!

    The painted buntings are back. I look forward to them every year. Usually get indigo buntings, too, but haven't seen one yet. Oh, and saw what I think was an oriole....black and orange, very pretty. Every once in a while one comes through my yard.

    Speaking of amaryllis...I picked up a couple of large bulbs last year and completely forgot they were in a bag with flower seed that I put in my closet for spring planting this year. They are dry and hard but don't seem to be rotted. Can they be planted once they have completely dried out?
