    I started looking into this when my husband decided I should have a vegetable garden last year. I found these site and also a book called Great Garden Companions. That's what I used for the model for the garden. It had really great info.

    Compost anyone?

    Oh wouldn't I love to do that. We are having an unusual thaw right now, 56 degrees and rainy, foggy and it smells like spring, and I want to go out and play! Even if it is muddy.

    Right now bin is buried! There is about 15 inches of snow to walk through to get to bin, and blowing snow has it pretty much covered. With another 7-11 predicted over the next 2 days. Oh joy.

    My gardens are filled with the plants and colors I love. Since I have all conditions in my gardens (sun/part sun/full shade) I plan for the locations. The South yard gardens are a bit more formal, bold colors (mostly) with a thought to the south neighbors. A mother and Son, 91 and 50 something...

    Roses

    Just my 2 cents worth.. I have 2 orange roses right now (zone 5/Wisconsin) Wildfire and Laura Bush, I mound with dirt then cover with leaves in the winter. I have to prune back hard in the spring, but the grow fast and have beautiful flowers during the season.

    Okay I can start. I have a thee ring binder folder thing, and a spiral note book. In the folder I keep magazine clippings, or things printed from the computer, drawings etc. I also keep a list of seeds I have and what the start dates are for all. In the spiral, this I carry out to the garden...
