The foliage is not watermelon.
I have seen the other plant in the pics but can't bring to mind what it is.

The top pictures are def squash and they may be hybrid. They look a little like spaghetti
squash

My only suggestion with clay is to get a tiller if at all possible and till in lots of steer manure and compost into your yard. Manure can usually be picked up at feed lots and dairy farms also sheep and goat manure it great. Anything that chews it's cud.
Horse manure NEVER.

Fire blight is pretty scary. You do just have to cut it out.
It gets really bad in pear trees.
