    New spring blooms for 2011

    Very beautiful Maggie and Dor!! My columbine is getting ready to start their show. The spring bulbs pretty much got knocked out by the horrible storms we had here. Got a few pictures before losing them...roses look like they are going to have a good year. So much rain!!!

    That is gorgeous...definately an annual here...I tried a few years back to store one in the garage over winter but it didnt come back...let me know how it goes for you...I would love to try again...its beautiful in a hanging basket!!

    Yes...you can direct sow...my gaillardia, coneflower, and columbine take over that way...have to remove the seed to keep it from happening. What are you sowing?

    Kallie, it is considered an herb but I have never tried it. I would imagine it would be the leaves you use but maybe the flower too. I am sure you can google it. I love it for its color!! I finally got red!!!!!!!!!

    Thank you Captain...lol!! I have a friend I call Captain Morgan and it seems weird calling someone else Captain. I am hoping they will multiply and I can do a Lily trade. The daylilies are able to be divided this fall. I am planning on planting some of the divisions but also hope to trade...

    I love these. We have them all up and down our road...I think they are so neat how the leaves come first and then die back and then Surprise!! Another neat thing is Van Bourgondien sells this as Magic Lilies rignt next to the "Spider Lilies"!!! Page 11 of the fall 2010 catalog if you have it...

    Thank you Dublinah! Don't let them fool you...they would like for you to think they are helping me garden...they are really just trying to sniff out the bunnies. Champy does enjoy smelling the sweet smelling ones though. Now is I could just teach them to weed for milk bones :)
