    Gardening in sandy soils!

    I don't know about Wisconsin and it's planting conditions but I do have sandy soil.     Welcome Tom and I agree with Ron. This stuff grows wild and it's a chore trying to get rid of it. It has roots to China and they hold strong! I've seen neighbors burn it to get rid of it and that didn't always work. I have one huge clump growing beside my pond that I've got to get started...

    They like water..planting in a spot that holds moisture is a good idea. I am in SC and they grow wild here. The most popular place to find them is around a ditch or pond. I've dug a few and replanted in pots. I really like my wild violets. Good luck with yours Evie.
