    Yes they will, I use a tooth pick or popsickle stick to lift mine out of the dirt.

    A few questions from a newbie container gardener

    I use miracle grow mixed with dirt in mine and my plants grow very nicely. as for strawberries a old tire would make a wonderful planter for them, and last for ever. In high winds and bad storms I put my plants under shelter if they are tall like tomatos, so they don't brake off, small plants...

    Composting

    too much sun will dry the pile out and you will have to water it, some seeds will survive and come up the next year, i have had tomatoe and squashes do that.

    Mike you might look under Organic Gardening there are posts there about composting that might help you out. I use my shreded paper in my compost pile, the inks on the majority of newsprint and inkjets are veg based and not a problem - the glossy surface stuff is a clay coating.

    MY herbs are growing now. 1. Egyptian onions 2. golden thyme 3. oregano plants 4. onion chives 5. parsley 6. french tarragon plants no picture won't let me upload it now. my basil,dill, rosemary are in the green house for now.
