Everybody hates Windows 8, lol. I saw a promo and it looked like something linux dreamed up... a nightmare. There's a way to reactivate the Start Button but the entire system just needs too many tweaks and perks. A dude I know (a hacker) got his working and was like all over it till he...

Awesome garden, Wombat! :D The only veggies I have left are my pineapple plant, my pink banana plant, and some peppers but they're doing great indoors.
@ Crabber. Show pics! :D

Welcome to the forum. :D You're the 2nd person I've met from South Africa. The 1st was CuriousGirl but that's at another forum. I haven't tried doing very many cuttings but I've had some really good luck when I've tried. See u in the threads.

Yeah, that's why I quit buying koi fish cause I didn't want a screen over the pond. I can go to the lake and see fish, lol. :D
The storms aren't here yet but it's after sunrise and it's still dark and I hear thunder. Btw, I really hope the doctor can get Tim well. An infection like that can't be...

Yeah, we were feeding the racoons here so we only had goldfish and koi for one summer. The last koi we bought were the winged ones and they were awesome but the racoons got those too and i didn't want to have to deal with a fish tank. :p
The lights just blinked so i think the storms are getting...

That's awesome! :D We have Ice Follies here too but only with yellow centers. I'd def like to find the orange ones. Daffs, tulips, and irises grow great here and we never have to dig them up except to separate new bulbs.
Another one that looks awesome and grows great here is Peruvian daffodils...

Oops! I forgot about living by the ocean so yeah, you could prolly raise goldfish or koi if you dug a trench, lol. :p And I def know about the back. I've had to dig up bamboo runners over an entire yard when a neighbor's bamboo got out of control. Btw, bamboo would look awesome on a deck...

Those are some healthy bamboos. :D Checking it out by the woodwork on the house, the height you mentioned and the medium shades of green, I'm almost certain what you have is a Phylostachys but not a very difficult one to contain so the shower pan could work. And it's a long-leaf variety! :cool...

Pool liner is too weak. I know from experience. The only thing that really works is high-density polyurethane. It can even work it's way through concrete and can break through ceramics like porcelain. But they do sell clumping bamboos and they don't send out runners. :D
The variety you...

Thanks Ron and Nancy. :) I could never get happy if I couldn't grow plants and I so want to do that as a career.
Nancy. Some things you need to know about putting bamboo in the yard. I don't know anything about sheet metal but if it can rust then it could let the bamboo escape. Also, even if...

Yeah, Australia would be the perfect place for bamboo. :D The company I got my timber bamboo from warned me that it prolly wouldn't grow here but it did. I gave it lots of TLC and even made wind breaks around it when it was young and that's prolly why it had enough time to adapt. :)
Btw, I...

First - @ Nancie and Wombat - Awesome banana plants! I was wondering when Nancie would finally be moving hers, lol. :p They look totally cool!
@ Wombat. I quit trying to grow bananas when I sent mine to him. They were doing really awesome then suddenly started dying. :( But somebody didn't...

Wow! I totally missed this intro!
Welcome to the forum! :D These people have tons of awesome ideas... and gardens. They helped me save my roses and giving me tons of ideas about what can grow here. You'll def find tons of info. :)

Thanks guys! :D Btw, I'm working on an accurate Geologic timeline chart. I'll post it in the thread when I'm finished.
I know people have different ideas about things and that's cool. I mean, nobody ever really saw a dinosaur and nobody can be totally certain how old anything is anyway. :) I do...
-
Omg! You grow a ton of plants! Awesome! :D I haven't seen that much cactus since the last trip to the lake! Epic job, Ron! :) It's giving me ideas for my indoor garden cause I really need wider shelves.
-
@ Crabbergirl. You are definitely recruited for this thread! :D I could learn a ton from you (and other peeps could too) about growing plants in hot climates like ours.
-
My banana project is now on hold. They were getting unhealthy indoors and if I put them outside, the heat would kill them. So I gave them to an online friend in Kentucky. He knows a lot about banana plants and he says he can save them. I hope so.
I'm gonna wait and look for an easier variety to...
-
Thanks! :D I know just where I can put them. Where my canas are surviving the heat and there's tons of room there too.
-
Thanks! :D
I love summer! :D You really should ask your friend how he/she does it. If they won't tell, then spy on them. Yay espionage! :p
