    first thing that came to my mind was my wedding ring..mark gave me this ring after we had been together for 6 years it was a little big so i wore it on my right hand..lost 2 diamonds...before we got married in '08 i had the diamonds replaced, reset and resized and he gave it to me all over again...

    dear dub, i'm not sure about your region, but down here in virginia if the ground is not frozen we can get away with planting daffodils on new year's day..believe me i did it..lol...they had really puny blooms though...i think they didn't get the needed chill...i was washing dishes a few minutes...

    lettuces dear mainegal&smiley, i plant my lettuce&spinach in containers on the back porch too..we don't have a lot of room so the veggie plot is reserved for the tomatoes, cukes and eggplant...i looked and looked here for "red sails" lettuce seed with no luck, i'm going to have to buy plants...

    brandywines i have grown these for the last 2 years and will be starting my seeds this weekend...we are zone 7b and maybe not as warm&humid as SC. i loved the brandywines..they are not pretty tomatoes but they are tasty...i guess they have a higher sugar content..once everyone got past the pink...

    yes ron i think these guys are sprawlers...i was at the botantical gardens in'07 and they were cleaning out some beds and had these daylilies on top of the heap going to compost...i asked if i could have one and they were happy to oblige...they turned out to be a lovely salmon orange double...
