    Will Corscrew willow need a stake?

    Right now the winds are around 20 mph, and the corkscrew willow is hardly moving in the direction of the wind. I think its because the trunk/branches are so thin, and the leaves are not very wide in diameter. I'm wondering if it needs it right now....

    I do have one more question. Since they'll be replaced by new dwarf roses (the same plants as before), should I leave the old root system in the ground (should or could the new plants utilize it)? Or should I entirely uproot the old system?

    doing a bit of reading. most of the material online seems to be for established trees. Do I need to worry about cutting into the branch collar and the branch bark ridge? Or is that only for established trees? If I make the cut flat against the trunk, I will be cutting into whatever of the collar...

    Well I went out this morning to give it the every other day watering, and I noticed a LOT of small green leaves, especially at the bottom, but even some at the top. That tells me that the tree is recovering and is starting to grow. Now the older bigger leaves are still withered and yellow...

    I can give it a nice drink every other day. No problem. One more thing--I've read that trees really shouldn't be given fertilizer or miracle gro or anything like that. Is that true in this case? Not even that Superthrive?
