    Only water it with distilled water. You can take it out of the box. Watch the moisture level. They are bog plants so filtered light and moisture will keep them happiest.

    I'd stop too! That must have been quite a sight. We have jackrabbits here. They are about the size of a beagle. The ears are humongous!

    They might also be springtails. They also love the damp and dark. Diatomaceous earth (food grade) sprinkled under mulch will reduce the numbers or spray them with lemon juice.

    They look like sow bugs to me. They like damp conditions. They will eat your plants if no other food is available. You can trap them in wet newspaper or upside down coffee cans. There is a bait on the market to kill them but I prefer trapping them or poke holes along the bottom edge of a sour...

    Good job, Randy! Protector of chickens award to you. I protected mine from an adolescent bear last week. He got the eggs but no poultry. He looked surprised when I yelled at him to "git".

    I talk to chickens and squirrels! Also birds,plants,anything that stands still long enough! Today I thanked a lady bug for eating aphids off my roses.

    It's what we know as the dietary laws or "kosher", although theres a lot more to it than that. Its in Leviticus if you want to check it out. I'm a little bit of a foodie and think all this stuff is fascinating. I plan on checking out halal, the dietary law of Muslims of which I know nothing.
