    Earth Box

Hello and welcome! I have two earth boxes and have had mixed results. I live in an area that cooks in the summer so have found them most useful in a semi-shaded area. Everything I've planted in them does pretty well but little frogs love to live in the watering tubes.

    The Bluegrass Bunch

I buried one of my chickens today too. Her name was "Hershey" and she was six years old. She was a funny girl who always sang when she talked. I will miss her. Randy, you are a sweetie to rehome your puter to someone who's never had one! They are going to have a lot of fun.

    creosote

Hi there and welcome. I'm not sure of its chemical properties but was told by my local fire department not to put it into my compost pile. They said ash was fine but creosote was a no-no.

It can sour the compost and attract vermin. Dried egg shells are fine though and the worms LOVE them. I keep a separate compost pile...
