Or if the sap accidentally gets in your eyes they may swell shut like mine did.

Well, hmm, I wouldn't keep it in a bed because I am allergic to it, but I have seen lots of euphorbias in beds and it has a pretty green color. Just be careful of the sap.

The first one looks like a euphorbia...burros tail, careful of the sap, it can cause allegic reactions, made my eyes swell shut one time. The second one is lambs ears.

Where should I put raspberry and blueberry bushes?

2 raspberry bushes would take over that whole area in a few years, I wouldn't plant them anywhere near anything else. Blueberries are a nice ornamental shrub too, as long as you keep them trimmed. I should post a picture of our blueberry hedge. They get pretty foliage in the fall and have...

    Just wondering...

I bought the breast cancer awareness daffs, they are a salmony pink in the middle, not a true pink. You can find helleborus in green. I don't think that green flowers are bred much because most people are looking for contrast between the foliage and the flowers.

    My veggie garden

Our asparagus has only been planted for 2 years...may sneak a stalk or two from them this week, but most of them I have to let go until next year. We put in 25 roots. It is looking great this year. Some danged animal ate all of my kohlrabi last night...grrr.

    A friendly reminder

And of course they are all engineers or accountants, so gardening is by far my strong suit and they have NOT a clue what they are talking about, ha. Good one Ron!!

    A friendly reminder

It's kinda of like our work dinner parties...no religion, no politics...but on that note I always think that it is a hoot when all of the Canadians arrive and start talking about American Politics. I always change the subject from religion to politics, ha.

Some new flowers I'm trying out

I would put those dianthus and snapdragons outside...you can bring them in at night if it is going to get tooooo cold, but they can take a frost. If they were greenhouse grown they might be a little tender.

    Tree Privacy Wall

oh good, more good news! We havent spoken in the 2 years since she planted them. And, imagine this...our neighborhood isn't allowed to have a fence over 4 feet tall, but the leylands get 50-100 feet.

    Tree Privacy Wall

Thank goodness noone suggested Leyland Cypress...our neighbor put them in 3 years ago as a screen between her property and ours. They will be over the border this year...ha. I told her that I will be sending her the pruning bills. Don't know who gave her that advice, but they were clueless...

    Tomato blossom end rot

I found a good show on PBS called "growing a greener world". I have only seen a few episodes but have thoroughly enjoyed them. It is on VERY early in the morning, but we can record on our cable box, so I do that. I really need to give PBS a donation.

    Monticello

There is sooo much to do within a few hours from us. We haven't done much because Bruce was travelling so much and my body fell apart. Now that both of those situations are under control I am ready to get out there.

    Monticello

Ok all of you veggie gardeners...who has been to Thomas Jefferson's Monticello? I just watched a PBS show on it. Sounds like a day trip to me, only 3 hours from us.
