    I have never tried to propagate them, as they have never been hardy for me before. I am running out of space for my addiction inside. Don't know what hubby is going to do with me. Of course, he does encourage it.

    I found one that I want called 'Dynamite', I have its spot picked out, but doing this landscape slow to make sure it all goes where it is going to stay. It is a beautiful dark red. They didn't used to be hardy in our zone 6 in PA, but now they are, I see them everywhere.

    Dor, you can pick up the ball blue book at Lowes too, they have an updated version. I have used mine very extensively in the past, it gives great basic info. I bet mine is 25 years old now or older.

    My guess is that they propagate the hybrids with tissue culture, then they would get the same genetic content as the parent.

    Melon Leaves are all gone

    I feel your pain Laurie, the japanese beetles have had a field day on my green beans. I have been on patrol and hand picking them many times during the day. The container of soapy water that I have been putting them in is getting kinda smelly, but I think that it is deterring the buggers.
