    My very own catalogue

    Then just do one space at a time, you'll get finished eventually. I would be careful not to sprinkle perennials in with annuals too much. It makes it hard to turn over an area in spring and get it ready for bedding plants or veggies either one. I'd keep my long-lived plants together, JMHO.

    sad news about Thomas Kincaide

    It was sad to hear he passed on. I suppose partly because there won't be any more Thomas K paintings, selfish me! Art critics didn't care for his work, but lots of real people love it. I think that's what counts.

    For years I used a plain circle of left-over fence wire with 2x4 inch holes. 5 ft high.     Edible companion plants for Blueberries?!

    I like the way you're thinking Mark, use that space. There out to be SOMEthing that would be edible and low-growing...maybe something "herby". I guess it should be a little shade-tolerant too. What grows amongst the wild blueberries?

    My apple trees need help Some kind of bark problem

    If you get blackened area on the branches it could be Fire Blight. Cut off all the black area and burn it. If you trim too closely at the ground level and remove bark, the tree will suffer.(mower blight) Maybe that bark was loosened by beetles under it and fell off?

    free city compost

    You might be over-generalizing about flowers needing poor soil. What flowers in particular? They must have a balance of nutrients to grow, altho I agree that SOME flowers don't do well in an overly rich setting.
