Is aquarium water ok for outdoor plants?

I use it on my plants and it doesn’t bother them. I don’t think it’s a concern unless you used a lot on vegetables. I’m guessing the duck and goose crap in my yard is worse than fish water.

Been reading some posts on here that Curbie shared with us all!!

Wonder if we could do something in her memory, but not sure what. Any ideas?

    What are you spring plans?

Gloria, if you have back problems, have you given thought to doing at least a portion of the garden as raised beds? It seems to me that doing a raised bed, and also planting plants really close together to get as many as possible in there, kind of the "Square foot gardening" approach. You get...

    Shiitake mushrooms

All mushrooms are edible... some more than once. :) OK, so help me out here Crabby. Do the ones you grow look distinct from the poisonous kind? I mean if you know you planted one specific type of mushroom, and know what it looks like, then you could simply ignore anything that didn't look...

    Hello to old members

Also, please tell folks who aren't back yet that we can get them back into their old accounts if they'd like, even if they no longer have that e-mail. I can reset things on the admin side and get them logged in again. I don't mind at all, so don't be afraid to ask!

    Hello to old members

I just helped another one get back in. Chattycarnation is now back on the forum. I really appreciate everyone's help in contacting old members and encouraging your friends to come and participate. Forums are a lot like a dinner party, you need about 20 people or more to keep the conversation...

    Hello to old members

::Blink:: Crabbergirl? You're back? Cool! Welcome back to the forum, we've missed you. I hope you like the new and improved site. It's a lot nicer looking, fast and easy to use. We have quite a few of the old members stopping by to check things out, very cool.

    Hello to old members

I finally gave in and bought a propane one. No mess, no smoke, instant on, instant off. There’s a lot to like. But even at 5000 btus or whatever it is, it just doesn’t put out anything close to the heat from a wood fire. Really nice decorative feature, but doesn’t do all that much to cut the chill.

    What are you spring plans?

What's an Asian fusion? It might be sort of what I've got in my backyard. I've got a lace leaf maple and moss and ferns and rocks. As well as the traditional Japanese favorite, Shamrocks. :) They don't really fit the rock garden theme in a traditional way, but I love them and they do well here...

    Why I was gone.

Lynn, I've been so busy I haven't had time to reply. Glad you're feeling better and welcome back. This was a tough winter for many folks, flu, pneumonia, "the creeping crud", just about everyone had at least a touch of it. Sounds like you had it worse than most though. Glad you doc could find it...

    Hello to old members

I think I've got most folks back in, though I'm still working on a couple. Let me know on FB if you're having problems. Also, if anyone has any ideas on how to get more activity here, please speak up! I'd like to get a lot more conversations flowing, so any ideas would be great!

    What are you spring plans?

Here's a photo from my garden to get things started. My primroses have decided that spring has indeed sprung.

    What are you spring plans?

It's spring! Well, maybe, sort of, when it's not snowing... But it will be spring soon enough. What are you plans for you garden this year? Do you have any big projects in mind? Trying something new? What's the first thing you're going to do in the garden this spring?

    New category

I've made a new category for general garden discussions. We have one specifically for questions, but not one to just talk about your garden in general. So I've created this topic for that.

Welcome to the new and improved forum. Now using Xenforo 2!

Ron, I've got the "heavy lifting" done, but there's still some work I need to complete. Today's project is getting our Privacy Policy and Affiliate Disclosure back in place. They were both lost during the upgrades, and I need to reinstall them and make them easy to find. I need to get that...

    Membership and privacy

Membership to the forum is free. It only takes a minute to sign up, no credit card needed (ever, since it's free) and we don't sell your e-mail address. With all the recent news about Facebook and how they treat your privacy, I thought it best to inform members of what private information this...

    Hello to old members

Yes, the new place does a few things differently. Go ahead and experiment, most of it is easily figured out. If you have questions, let me know. Also, if you have any problems, I can help get things figured out. If any of you are locked out of your old accounts, let me know and I'll get you back in.

    Hello to old members

Welcome back, nice to "see" you again. I see it no longer says "new member" under your name. Not sure where that comes from, guessing it has to do with how many messages you post.

    Hi everyone!

Sue, I can get you back into your old account, if you know what the account name was? I don't see a "Sue O" however, were you registered as something else?

    Hello to old members

BTW, for those of you coming back for the first time in a while, here's the short version of the new place. The forum software that we were running, Vbulletin 4, was no longer supported. A while back, I migrated this forum over to Xenforo, but it just didn't have the features we were used to...
