What kinds of herbs will you grow this year?

I so wish I did, Gloria! But it didn't survive. I've got some True Lavender and Munstead lavender that I planted from seed. We'll have to see if they survive. I always love to have loads of lavender around! I've also got jasmine growing -- the night blooming stuff has the most beautiful...

Watergate Salad This recipe is for one package of pistachio pudding, but I always double it. 1 package of pistachio pudding 1 can of crushed pineapple in its own juice 1 package of miniature marshmallows 1 cup of chopped nuts -- walnuts, pecans, or even pistacio pieces. 1 8 ounce carton of...

What do you plant in containers?

I'm in zone 8, so I can leave many things outside. Elephant ears, cannas, and even brugs are hardy here. It's just my stupid landlord that has made it impossible for me to plant things in the ground.....and the containers are rapidly crowding my patio.

    Rooting Pineapple Tops

Debe, I never knew that......I guess it makes sense though. I'll have to try that the next time I start one. I've had more failures than I have successes.

Debe, make sure that if you intend to make cider, you get plenty of it yourself. No fair for the person who does all the work to be left out in the cold!

    Welcome from the GardenForums Staff

I think I've only had lobster once in my entire life. It was in Boston, and I was there for my brother's wedding. You know something? In a couple of weeks, my brother and sister in law will be celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary, I think.

    Welcome from the GardenForums Staff

When I was growing up, my mother used to feed me calves liver quite often. I was anemic, and the medicine I had to take was so thoroughly disgusting, I would have eaten almost anything to avoid it. Nowadays, we know that liver is high in cholesterol......and so it's on one of the forbidden...

    Rooting Pineapple Tops

Treva, how long did it take from the time you planted it for it to get any fruit? My guess was a good two or three years. Is that way off the mark?

    Does the shoe fit???!!!!!

I don't think there are many days when I do nothing. If nothing else (hehehe,) I am always writing....I do enjoy it, but sometimes, I push myself because I know it means income. As for whether the shoe fits, sorry folks, but whenever I'm at home, I'm always barefoot! We don't wear shoes in our...

    Rooting Pineapple Tops

Rooting a pineapple top This is how I do it, Lynn. Cut the top off of the pineapple and when you do it, make sure you cut it so that the top will be able to stand upright. Remove about an inch of the lower leaves. Put the bottom part of top in water. You'll need to refresh the water...

    Gardening & Entertaining

I like to garnish food I serve with things from the garden.....Put nasturtiums on a plate and make it more colorful. If you serve iced tea, put some fresh mint leaves at the top of each glass, or put mint on cantaloupe. If it's not too buggy, sit outside and enjoy the surroundings. Containers...
