These are some Yucca seeds my mom gave me, she picked them herself so not store bought. I could be way off, getting started myself, but looks similar to me.
The second I have no idea.
I and my mom are in TN also.

Well I guess I lied.
I should have a picture for you tomorrow night. But one of the buds opened up today so I have one little pink flower. Looks like I may have 3 or 4 tomorrow night.
I have not counted but looks like there is about 8 on it. Give or take. Well see how it does.

I haven't taken anymore yet. It's still pretty dormant. Got some buds beginning to show pink, and some green where the branches are trying. Probably gonna start taking pictures in the next couple weeks.

I had the same idea.
Planting a rose bush "fence" around my front yard to keep the kids waiting for the bus from messing with my young trees.
Dosen't sound like a bad idea though.

K
Well mine is a little less historic if you will. Got it as short for Kennedy Cougar Band. Just the first thing that came to my mine at the moment. Where I went to highschool.

Rather then start another thread, I ended up planting 26 roses so far. Making a rose wall fence around my front yard. I figure it will take atleast 80. I have I think 15 different kinds of roses so far. These are localy bought that the stores had.
They are all beginning to shoot out...

Well gonna add an update, as I find this thread in a google search. Maybe it can help someone else in the future.
Anyway so far the tree does not seem taller at all, comparison being I look at it quite a bit, and my daughter is still the same height.
However the buds are coming along. They...

Not saying I am, just one of those moments. Oh gotta add another moment, I am in Tn, North Western side right at the Kentucky Border.
Keep in mind I am not asking anyone to do anything for me. I can search myself.
However if you have the knowledge and/or time and you want to. I do...

Guess I'm kinda dumb right now. I can't think of anything to compare it to other then about half the size of a full grown house fly.
So not real big for a fly but not shrimpy.

K
So I think I may have found the answer to my question.
Looks like a fruit fly from what I have found so far. What kind is another question.
I have been unable to find weather they are good or bad.
So I guess the next question is do I need to get rid of them or not?

K
I figured I would start a new thread for this. Probably gonna have some more too.
As far as the answer/guesses go, I have no idea so...
Took a picture of this one tonight, curious to know what it is. I am assuming a fly of some type, but we know what assuming does so.
They are on my Blue...

Looks like a Blister Beetle to me.
Atleast I can look up whether to leave it alone or not. I had not seen one like that here yet.

I have done a bit of reading on composting and do not consider myself an expert.
However I will add a bit.
I have a compost bin, still working on the first bit.
Mine is black, to compost "quick" you need to have heat, and the right mixture of stuff.
The right stuff being wet and dry, or...

I spose this may be apporpriate.
I don't have a pic, but curious to know what this bug was.
Saw one last night, it looked like a big black ant on the front end, and kinda a beetle on the back. The front looked just like an ant to me.
The back was like one solid "case" it did not have the...

I know some of mine do have a coating from the Coop, but the Kentucky Wonder do not. They came from Rual King though.
I do think your right though Randy, I don't ever recall seeing a "store" bought (grocery, walmart, lowes, etc..) seed with a coating.

I know I am kinda new here and to gardening/planting in general but.
The question I would have to add is.
Do you know what kind it is? May seem kind out there if you will, but same idea I got some sunflowers for my daughter and they are supposed to get 16' tall. Figured 10 at most till I got...

I have some Kentucky Wonder Brown Pole Beans.
I would be willing to give up probably about 2 of the paper envelope's worth. I don't know if they are heratige or not though. They are from Livingston Seed Co.
I do have some Roma II and Dwart Hort I would be willing to give up. Both bush, I...

Well they haven't bloomed quite yet, but they are starting. So here's a pic for ya.
