    I use seed starting mats on all my seeds that like it warm. They're kinda pricey, but I like using something that can get wet and that is easy to clean. If you google a bit, you can find all kinds of homemade set ups that work as well and aren't expensive to throw together.

    Oh, I love Texas Star Hibiscus! I'm in zone 8a, and mine has been in the ground for years. You will have some dead looking stalks, but it should come back nicely. I've never tried to divide mine, I propagate more from seed or I've even rooted a few of the stems.

    It's actually more of a hoax than good for plants. The plants can't use the vitamins that are in it, and the growth is mostly stretching from the plant hormone auxin.

    That came in a seed trade. the guy who sent it to me said it was supposed to be a sweet Corno Do Toro pepper, and it must have been cross pollinated, because the first time he bit into one...holy crap!
