Is it an heirloom? I have no idea if it'll germinate but I would say it's worth the effort to try. Good luck.
It’s beginning to sound like you need to fence your garden to keep that adorable child out. They are so fast at that age. She truly is adorable.

I don't think even a rattler would keep me out of the garden. I'd walk lightly and carry a big stick.
I'm glad your husband saw it in good time. I'm sure if he hadn't you'd have told a different story.

I'd try them. What have you got to lose. Good luck.

I love them all but that last one is to die for. You have a wonderful mail man, sure wish I did.

They are so darn cute. All you need is a picture of the three of them and your darling granddaughter and you would win any photo contest hands down. I still crack up when I think of why you named them Fanny and Freddy.

Wow! I wasn't planning to grow them but if they are so difficult that Maggie can't grow them I don't think I'll even try. Good luck Holy.

Randy you need a different hobby this one stinks. LOL

Sounds like a great plan. I'd plant some flower among the veggies in the front yard. It'll look nice and keep the neighbors from fussing to much.

Good heavens I hope your husband is okay. The pictures are a little small but from what I can see it looks great. Can you post a bigger picture so we can see the details.

I knew it. Great job! The ribbons are nice but I think getting to eat those wonderful veggies is the real prize.
Is this bear hunt with your church group? I hope you have a wonderful and safe trip to Maine. I'll look forward to your wonderful photos when you get back.

I think that's so cute and quite wonderful. When he was little my youngest would sit in the garden and eat veggies until he got sick. I must be the only woman on the face of the earth who had to fence in her garden to keep her own child out of it. He has a scar on his forehead because he got...

Thanks Maggie I will stake mine as well. I can hardly wait they are all ready to bloom. I don't know why I haven't grown them in ten years. I'll have to dig them up and store them over the winter but they are worth the effort.
Gosh your garden never stops rewarding you for all your...

They are so lovely. I only have three daylilis so far but I'm working on getting more.

You are so right Kya, I never met a free plant I didn’t love. I have dozens of irises in my garden and didn't buy a single one. One day about seven years ago I found two boxes full of them in my carport. All were nicely trimmed, clean and ready to be planted. I had no idea where they came...

Laurie the cats broke off my clematis to the ground but they came back. I put some wire around them to keep those darn cats from doing it again. I don't know anything about butterfly bushes. In my garden you aren't dead until you are REALLY dead. I give every thing more then a fair a chance...

Hi Stone I've never planted in tires so I can't comment. If your soil is bad you should look into lasagna gardening. If you do a search you’ll find a thread about it here. It’s the only way I can plant in my soil. It’s a very easy way of making a new bed.
BTW Welcome to GF. I’m sure...

I can't bring myself to do that. I guess I'll just keep staking and caging my plants. I even go out and shake flowers that are weighted down by the rain.
-
Hi Fly! I don't know the first thing about grasses but wanted to welcome you to GF. I'm in the PNW.

I agree. Lavender is supposed to relax you and promote sleep but if I bring it in the house I get a headache that lasts for days. :( Mine has self seeded so I have several plants around the yard and I've shared with several people. They are in full bloom at the moment.
Yours looks...
