Lisa my neighbors had a fit when I put in my little pond because they were sure we would be invaded by mosquitoes. We now have four neighbors with ponds. As long as you have a pump to keep the water moving the fish will be happy and the mosquitoes won’t. Shade at least 60% of the water...

Hi & Welcome from the PNW.
Although it didn't get colder this winter it stayed colder for much longer then normal. I've noticed a lot of junipers did not fare well and many around town are being removed.
My neighbor junipers looked a lot like yours. I think it was because of to much...

Thanks Maggie I think I'll leave them in the pot this year and keep them in the greenhouse over the winter. They would freeze under my house.
Dor those are lovely.

Welcome from the PNW. Glad you found us.
I recieved a gift of mini calla lilies several years ago. They were in bloom at the time but have never bloomed again. I save them from year to year and each year they have the most beautiful leaves but no blooms. Anyone have any advice for me?

OMG they are all so lovely. TFS

Maggie I want to sit on your bench and enjoy your garden it looks so lovely.
What do you do to get your calla lilies to bloom? I've been saving them for a couple of years. I plant them each spring and the come up beautifully but they never bloom. What am I doing wrong?

Kim since the stain isn't coming out and you say it's just one block could you try matching the fabric with some floss and just cross stitching over it? I’m afraid if you keep trying different chemicals you will damage it. I'll bet you could hide it and no one would notice unless they got up...

Now Dave you couldn't put Winnie on your s#$t list you know you'd have been upset with her if she hadn't gone after that rabbit. Besides you love her to much. LOL
Everyone's gardens are looking wonderful. What came up in my garden is doing well. To late to plant more peas. Maybe I can...

Oh my I am sorry so many are having so many different problems with their gardens. It truely is a labor of love.
Before I planted I couldn't get the cats to stop digging so I put chicken wire over my boxes. That kept them out.
I've learned over the years that there are some stores that...

OH I was speaking of the perennials. It seems the annuals just can't wait to grow just sow them in the fall and up they come in the spring.

I save all my egg shells even over the winter; rinse, dry, crush small and scratch into the soil around all my plants and put some in the holes when I plant. For tomatoes besides the egg shells I also add cut up banana peels and epson salts in each hole. I scratch in a little epson salts and...

I'm with Blue but I never let it go in the trash. I've been know to take my neighbor's grass clippings they set out for the trash man. :)

I haven't had much luck starting them in the garden. I think because it gets so hot here it's next to impossible to keep them moist. Here is how I grew some last spring. I poked several holes in the bottom of some take out drink cups. I lined them with several layers of newspaper, filled...

I don’t dare crochet another gift. If I do I’m afraid the recipient will unravel them and hang me with the yarn. LOL I’ve really over done that one. Last year I made wreaths. I got the grape vine wreaths for $1 a piece. I decorated them with ribbon and dried and or silk flowers. I think...
