Myfedora most teens are like that. My son sure was. LOL He took more brakes then he actually worked but now he will do anything I ask him to and some things I don't even have to mention. Hang in there the teenage son is a whole different animal then the adult son.

Oooo Bats are such neat creatures. When I was stationed at Ft. Sam in San Antonio TX a friend took me to see bats leaving a cave at dusk. It was an amazing site. When I lived in Calif. there was a huge dead tree at the end of our block. I was astounded by the number of bats that lived in...

Dor you are as lucky as I am to have a great son who helps out. Mine is my rock. He only lives a mile away so he comes over when ever I need anything done. And he scolds me for not calling when he thinks I should have. He put in some slide out shelves in my kitchen recently and I couldn't be...

Hi Annette! Welcome from the PNW. Yep you've come to the right place. If it wasn't raining and cold out I'd be in the garden but since it is here I am. I suppose I should do some housework but that's no fun. I'd rather be here with this nice people. :D LOL

I've promisde the two I know I have but there might be some in my neighbor's yard. I'll check tomorrow. It's my plant. :)

I have put off looking at this thread because I lost so many roses this winter and I was afraid I'd run out and buy roses posted here before I gave mine a real chance to come back. Mr. Lincoln, Taboo, Peace, Dbl. Delight, Ole’ and Don Juan are definitely dead. Several more are still in doubt...

It's lovely GB. I am sure it will put out more blooms each year from now on. My sister has a few of them and they get better every year. TFS

How hot does it get there? Our temps are usually in the high 90s but we always get a week where it hits 107 - 110 and we get as low as -10. Our humidity is very low. I have several Mrs. Moon's and they are all doing great. Of couse they are in full shade or during the hottest part of the day.

Randy don't forget the homeless shelter too. They are always happy to get my extras.

OMG you are going to be amazed at how easy it is to start Forsythia.
1 Pick a flexible branch or two or three and bend it to the ground.
2 At the point where the branch touches the ground scratch the bark a little. (I just gently rub it against a rock or cement. You just want to break...

Isn't it wonderful to find those surprises. Last year my neighbor thanked me for all the lovely snapdragons that came up in her garden. Funny I've never planted snapdragons, the angels planted them in my garden and columbines too.
Can't wait to see the picture Kim.

Sounds like you should take a day or two to rest up. I've done that job before so I know how exhausting it is. Take care of yourself.

DS called tonight. Said his neighbor is getting rid of all his irises do I want any. He says they are all purple but I swear I've seen different colors in his yard. I'm taking a dozen. I wish I had space for more. Hope I get some interesting colors.

Congratulations on the thesis and the new job. I love the shape of your beds. The pond and the list of plants are bound to make your gardens beautiful. Your fur baby is cute.

OMG that is so funny. When I was very little I got into Dad's garage and into some brown paint. I splattered it all over my legs. I used nail polish and got it all off except for one spot on the out side of my thigh that just wouldn't come off. I finally had to fess up to my mother. I...

I love these. In Hawaii you can find these and apple turnovers anywhere that sells donuts. I sometimes cheat and use store bought pie crust or puff pastry for the shell. The recipe calls for fresh coconut but since I moved to WA and don’t have coconuts on my doorstep any more I use the...

My Sister sent me this recipe and I can't wait to try it. I don't have cocoa in the house. Bahumbug.

2 tablespoons cocoa 1 egg
3 tablespoons milk...
