Ok, tomorrow for lunch I am making homemade corndogs! That won't make Bruce happy, but he can figure out something to make for himself.

Curb, I am watching the chew and they are making homemade corndogs!! I C flour, 1C cornmeal, 1C milk....heat up your oil or deep fryer and fry until browned. Yum, now I want a corndog.

J
you have some nice daffodils

J
Oh curbster, you must try a corndog sometime! You have been depriving yourself!

Hubby made his famous tailgate chili, it is yummy! I am making chicken fried rice because one of our friends who is coming doesn't eat ground meat or pork or beef, so the chili won't go over with her. I am also making a salad and some lemon bars.

I can't even bring myself to think of them as cute anymore after last year. And there is nothing to do to keep them away other than destroy them. I tried human and cat hair, moth balls, motel sized bars of soap, netting, cayenne pepper, CGs hot pepper spray, everything except poisen, but...

All of my berries were netted and had PVC on top of the netting around them...the chippers dug under the mulch and even ate the green ones. Needless to say I don't like chipmunks at all...and that is putting it mildly.

J
And don't forget about the chipmunks!!! And the birds will do their dangest to get under the netting too. All this from last years experience with my poor blueberries. I may just sit out in a lawn chair and pick them all off with a pellet gun this year...they ate hundreds of dollars worth of...

You are inspiring me to start planning my spring. This will be the first spring with my new hip, but I should be almost totally healed by April. I am looking forward to some good gardening with less pain for the first time in years. Hubby needs to put in another raised bed for me, our bean...

I put ours in the dining room which gets natural day conditions with no outside light. It is blooming up a storm right now.

They want "short" days, it triggers their blooming genes.

I am very hopeful that I will have a much more productive garden in 2012. I would love to grow lots of this stuff again. This year was a bit off for me.

That is so pretty, I need a new skirt for my tree and love to crochet. Do you have a pattern or did you make it up as you went?

Ok guys, there it is! I used basil in mine, no lemon juice and added a pack of pectin because I didn't want to wait forever for it to cook down. It isn't firm, but still yummy.

They are the best amusement ever. And the silly little things divebomb each other...and flit around chirping asking to be abused, ha. Sooo fun! When they arrive in the spring they come in the garage telling me it is time to put the feeders up.

Ours are still here and are the silliest little things, they make me laugh. I was sitting on the deck and one had a little drink and then did a little dance for me. Bruce was looking out the sliding glass door watching the whole thing. I will really miss them when they are gone.

I made a new one last week which is a keeper...spicy tomato jam. We tried it out over the weekend. I am going to make some peach salsa today and also start another batch of that tomato jam, it is going to be a good one for the christmas gift baskets.

I just finished spiced peaches and my favorite peach habanero jam. Tomorrow is sugar free peach jam and refrigerator pickles. Thursday is spiced tomato jam. And friday is big clean up...my kitchen is a wreck. Bruce is in Mexico with work this week and I am hard at it. He hates a wrecked...

Just remember that they are very, very slow to come up. I almost gave up on mine this year...and seeing as you are much further north than me, don't give up until at least June.
