I keep a stock of corn dogs in the freezer. When I make something different for dinner and I expect a couple of turned up noses from the Sanders males, I provide a small plate of corn dogs to placate them.

I heard...there is a tribe somewhere that puts a hot dog in the planting hole with the corn seed. Or was that a fish? LOL. Oops, time to take my medication :)

Ummm definitely fish kiddo, although you could try it sometime and have sweetcorn relish with your hotdog;)

You guys are being silly! LOL! I've never had a corndog so I don't know a THING about them. Sounds a little 'corny' to me :) Curbie

Can you buy them? ok....so i look foolish.... Rockhound, that does not sound like a good idea to eat a crummy corndog. Are they fried? I really am clueless about these. Are they wrapped in corn? Cluelss Curbz

I'm learning....I'm learning. Have you ever made them, Randy? Now, I can't imagine frying a hotdog. HOW can you STICK a STICK in a HOT dog and fry it. How big is the pan???? Gosh.....please do not criticize b/c I am being a dumbbunny. :) :) :) Curbstone

They use deep fryers, Curbie. I have never made them though. I bought a box of them at CostCo and keep them in the freezer. There are 40 of them in the box when it is new. I keep them on hand simply because I know that my grandson will not eat some of the stuff I prepare for dinner. Another purpose, however, is if we get unexpected dinner guests, I can microwave a fistful of corn dogs and Alec and David both will pass up wholesome food for the junk food. I keep them in my freezer in the barn. When I kept them in the family freezer in the garage, they disappeared rather quickly.

They stick a stick into the dog and dip it in a corn batter then deep fry them.

So glad I know what you are talking about. When I statred on this page, this was the first post. I though "stick a stick in the dog" ?!?! Then it :p hit me.

PS I love corn dogs!

Curb, I am watching the chew and they are making homemade corndogs!! I C flour, 1C cornmeal, 1C milk....heat up your oil or deep fryer and fry until browned. Yum, now I want a corndog.

Ok, tomorrow for lunch I am making homemade corndogs! That won't make Bruce happy, but he can figure out something to make for himself.

I love 'The Chew' except for one person. Corn dogs ~ I am so silly that I<<< thought you wrapped them in ...... corn. I'm working on my technique! :) I'm going to get the hang of this. Just give me a few years. I just really like hotdogs. :) "I'm a little hotdog. I'm a little hotdog ~ walkin' down the street!" CREATIVITY INVENTED EINSTEIN and STINKBUGS! :) Curbster
