Ohhh Myyy Stars , our Curbie deserves a salute for Hanging in there during this process!! * WTG *

Thank you.PRH. I think I went too strong on the goldfish with Pittsburgh-ese so I have toned it down for the banana leaf....kind of..."I am NOT looking at you, Brat! YOU KNOW WHY you're named that? b/c you're a Brat. Are you lookin' at me b/c I'm lookin' at you." Then I get the hiccups. I managed to kill a goldfish but I swear, this plant and I can battle. I need to learn karate! ON GUARD! ~ Curbie (I have a leaf :) )

Wow that's great news young curbie, good for you! Many more leaves will follow if it's a typical 'nana, they sprout leaves quite rapidly....

But I don't know what to do with this daggone plant when it starts to grow. WHY did I grow this thing ~ but I do know she likes Tina Turner ♫ and the cilantro and basil by her side as well as the gray cat. I'll put it with the lilac bush.....oh geez. 'Brat' has shamrocks growing with her & marigolds. And I still yell at her," now you listen to me , monkeyshiner. I need those marigolds to grow so GROW UP and ACT RIGHT! Dumhead!" Yep, when MTM said the other night,"YOU don't know ANYthing about gardening", I thought: it's easier to yell at a plant than you :) I'M a great gardener :) Now THAT is stradegy! ~ Curbie

Oh thank you, Wombat. That's a great site. I have some figuring out to do but that will not deter ~ 'nana' Mom! MTM said,"When are we going to have a song about a banana tree?" oh... that's Monkeyshines! When it GROWS we get a monkey! I think he may throw this plant away :) I have to protect Brat b/c I want a monkey :) ~ now that is TRUE 'shines' ~ Curbster

OH HOLY COW ! NOW I have another issue. Listen, there is a little thing popping up from the roots. What's going on, Wombat? Two leaves and a stray something ~ what's coming up from the roots? Daggone 'Brat'......~ Curbster

Gawd, I had puppies ~ it was an easy birthing......does this make me a 'great Nana Momma' now? WOOHOO! I had a puppy! ~ Thanks, Ron! ~ Curbie

My pups

My mama died and fell over, now I have 3 pups. Two of them need to be moved asap.

How do you move them? I'm afraid to do anything with anything. So YOU listen to Tina Turner, puplette.....I'll figure you out. Two leaves and a puplette :)I thought I was getting >>>> A<<<< plant. I didn't know it was going to have puppies. ~ Grammy Bananie (AKA as Curbie)

Good work, Curbie! :) But DO NOT cut the pup off. Some pups are "sword suckers". Sword suckers can never make bananas BUT they help the mamma plant get healthier and survive. Since your banana tree had so many probs, it prolly is a sword sucker and will help keep the mamma plant healthy. :)
But even if it is a true pup, the mamma plant's had too many probs and it could hurt to try to remove it.
Btw, thanx for sharing the photos! You def get an "A" from me! :D

Thanks Trax! My little 'puppy' now has 2 leaves, too now! I honestly never expect to get a banana from this thing but I'm having fun trying to get it to grow. :) NanaMama (AKA ~ Curbie)

Great advice there trax. Things seem to be going really well for you curbie, keep an eye on the pot size too as they have a habit of splitting their pots due to the root mass.

uh oh.........do you think if I let it hear Tina Turner long enough ~ Jimmy Buffet ~ I won't get any more sword suckers? If this pot breaks, I WILL go Pittsburgh on this plant! "NOW THAT YOU KNOW the rules of this game....do not do it.....b/c you know what's going to happen this winter :) Hhhhmmmm....I do. " I love to think I'm in control. I'm pretty good at sounding like the Cowardly Lion :) Thanks y'all ~ Curbie

Curbie, if you are going to grow bananas then you're going to have to think like a banana!!
Control is only an illusion, it keeps us from knowing the truth!
We all know the banana is in control!
You need to surrender your sense of control!!:p

Yes, sir......do I have to wave a white flag for the surrender? :) My sapsucker sword sucker thingy has a 3rd leaf this morning ! ~ Curbie
