WELL :) no climbing a houseplant :) My gosh ~ when they put out the tornado warning, I didn't care about my hubby but I was running around yelling,"WHERE are the banana plants?! GET OUT of my way!" Well, I'll make my own lunch. If we have a tornado and this home gets hit and my banana plant dies...... I've never fought with a tornado but it could happen. "YOU PUT MY BANANA PLANT DOWN! RIGHT NOW!" Talk about a lecture :) ~ Thanks again, Wombat :) ~ Curbie

Guess what....... :) ......... I'm not going to TELL you :) but I'll give you a hint. It is curled up in the middle of the plant. The word begins with an 'L'. The last letter is an 'F' . Wonder if I could play Jeopardy? Wheel of Fortune? I can spin jacks! That's kind of a stupid hobby when I'm in Congress. "Suddenly, the WHOLE government has fallen apart at the seams b/c one Representative was spinning jacks and asking people if they've ever had a Christmas tree with Easter eggs on it." hm.... :) Curbster

We had a banana tree right off the back porch of our house when we lived in San Antonio. It was pretty to look at and it had little bananas on it, but we moved away before I ever saw any ripe ones.

Mine are always on the move :) Drag them over here ~ Drag them over there. Put them in the shade. Bring them back in the house. Put them back outside. I'm sure they feel like they're homeless. That's too bad you didn't get to pick bananas. I am SURE I will never SEE a banana! :) ~ Curbie

For as much as you are moving them, you should put them on casters so they will roll. You are liable to hurt your back.

My problem with coasters is that they sit on the kitchen window sill. There is a lip out to our deck and then there are steps to put them in the shade. I am a complicated banana farmer. But I know they like Tina Turner :) ~ Curbie

All that dragging them around stuff seems to be working Curbie. So far so good, but as they get bigger you may have to use casters as young Randy suggests. You're doing a great job with your babies though, well done!:)

I'll get to pics, Ron. Thanks Wombat. Now that our outdoor trees have leaves. I'm trying to decide where to put these. I know they have to have shade, right? The first one is Mom Brat and the second pic are her little bratlettes. You 2 & Trax are inspirations towards sending me to an insane asslym. "Ma'am do you know why you're here?" YEP, b/c I bought these banana trees. :p ~ Curbie

Oh, Dor ~ I have a lot to look forward to! LOVELY plants! (I hope mine stay alive and you get bananas....no equity in the universe....Beverly Hillbillies versus Donald Trump....the Hatfields and the McCoys.) What does a blossom look like, Dor?(You have to learn SOMEhow.) ~ Nana Curbie :)

They look great! :D Thanks for the photos! You are now an official banana farmer! :) Mine has a 9th leaf starting to pop out! I'll add a photo when I get some time!
Btw, a banana bloom looks like a huge purple, pointy ball but the bananas are on the stem under the ball. I'll post a photo of a banana flower too! :)

Hey Dor,
Those are awesome! :) Thanks for the photo! I cant wait for mine to get that big!

You got bananas on the brain Curbie!
Welcome to weird and wonderful world of plant addictions!
There is no cure, so you will have to suffer just like the rest of us!
Just think, you will be able to feed your 'kids' bananas when they finally produce!

LOL! :D Actually I was getting worried. When I called Gardeners Choice to tell them you meant bananas not tomatoes, I thought they might think it was a prank call... Joking! :D

Congrats about the 2 new banana trees! :) Now you can start a whole nursery!
