Where do you work b/c I have a problem with your computer, your eyesight, your time ....now LOOK, WE'RE not going to pay you to act like this. (Man, I am getting kicked off soon so ignore anything I have said before) ~Anonymous (I'm not TELLING!Man, I'm on the wrong thread again. This is a goofy day. I have the hiccups while I'm sneezing) I have a lot of veggies and I one tomato plant and 6 banana trees! My gosh, the banana trees are growing so fast. MTM asked," Are they in too small a pot?" I THINK they're supposed to get 7 feet tall. Well, after the lecture about how I don't know what I'm doing (you think i don't know what i'm doing..) LOOK at the new leaves! We could get BANANAS from these ! ;)

Totally thanks! :) I'm def willing to pay whatever Priority mail costs to have one! And yeah, waiting for cooler weather is a really good idea since it'll be even hotter in the package or box.

Congrats about the new leaves! :D My outdoor banana plant only has one pup and no mama plant but the pup's looking better and it's making the start of a new leaf, yay! I'll post a pic when I'm sure it's gonna be okay.
 


You should see these happy campers. These banana trees are ready to burst out of their pots. MTM asked the other day ~ Do you think they need bigger pots? "WELL, only if I'm trying to grow them :) " ~ Curbster
 
Wow Curbie sounds like your nanas are really powering along, woohoo! Trax that nursery is in my state lol. Are you planning on ordering them from OZ? Is there a nursery in the US that would sell them? I'm sure the postage would be a darn site cheaper. Ron I grow the smaller variety eggplants as they seem to be less bitter than the larger ones. I mainly grow Little Finger, which survives my hot and humid summer best, Snowy...a pure white white variety that is yummy and also Mini Violet Ruby or Thai pea eggplant which bears little bunches of cherry tomato size eggplants......even you'd eat these ones Trax! :D

I am making a new LARGE root bed this weekend. Got the sand yesterday. I will keep trimming them back so they are mostly roots and they should love it when you plant them in the ground or a pot.

I would like to have the space to grow a veggie patch /bc eggplant & Brussel sprouts would be all there is. I love them. I tried to grow garlic once ~ uh, not very good at garlic farming. I tried to grow onions once.....well... that didn't work very well either :) . Good thing I like flowers! ~ Curbie (I am watching these bananas like Mom would try to watch me. I remember one time when I really was sruck in a cherry tree and I could hear Mom yelling my name but I really did have a stick up my patoot and I couldn't get out of the tree. Those were great cherries though.)
 
There really is no space here so ..... Do they bear fruit? Blossoms? I could send a banana tree but they have gotten too big. These nana's are growing like weeds in this heat and humidity. My neighbor caught me yelling the other day,"STOP GROWING!" Were you yelling at ME?????? "oh...no.....i was yelling at these banana trees......" Good thing I don't have more than one neighbor. Yeah me :) ~ Curbie

I'll prolly order my cannas from OZ. I want to add some more Australian stamps to my stamp collection! :D If we ever get cherry sized eggplants, I might try them but I'm not an epic eggplant fan, lol.

I love Brussels Sprouts!! :D That's prolly my fav veggie! I also wanna get a Morello Cherry tree and try to grow it here. Then I can double distill the cherries and make Kirsch! :p I just needa find some Ashwood barrels to age it in, lol!
 


Trax, my duaghter used to call Brussel sprouts 'little trees'. My favorite cherry is Ranier and I can only get them about now. I ate the whole bag on the way home from the grocery store the other day in the car. When I was growing up, our neighbor across the street had a Ranier cherry tree. Mrs. Colonello would yell,"ARE you STILL in that tree?" We had sour cherry trees. I :) preferred the Ranier tree :) I don't know what Kirsh is??? Sounds like moonshine. Does anyone remember the episode of 'I Love Lucy' where she and Ethel were stomping grapes? I loved 'I love Lucy' Lucy she was just like my Mom. :) ~ Curbie
 
Kirsch is Kirschwasser (cherry brandy)! :D I wanna make a Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte and I gotta have Kirsch to do that. But Kirsch is like $75 for 750 ml. so I wanna make my own, lol! Especially since I can't buy it even if I had that much to spend for it. :( But if I don't use Kirsch it'll just be Black Forest cake and it won't taste as good. Anyway, I found the original old German recipe so I wanna try it! :)
What's I love Lucy?? Stomping grapes sounds like fun! :D
 
Trax ~ Has anyone ever told you rather intelligent? "I Love Lucy" was a TV show back in 1960'ish era. It was SO funny. Ricki Ricando was her husband. Try to find it somewhere. Oh, the veggies are great :) ~ Thank you for asking. ~ Curbie
 
Trax if you need any help at all regarding plants from here, just ask. Also Kirsch is yummy but pretty powerful stuff lol...so I've heard anyway!;) I'm not an epic eggplant fan either but the little guys I can handle ok...
Curbie we just finished chomping our way through lots of Rainier cherries and they were delicious!

Kirsch is powerful?? Yay! :p This is def gonna be fun!
Btw, I brought one of the Beefsteak tomato plants in last week and put it in the indoor garden and it's doing great! Maybe it'll make indoor tomatoes, I hope!
 
I have an indoor tomato plant but it hasn't done much. I got it from Gardener's Choice. I'd like a hanging strawberry plant. Has anyone ever tried that? Curbie :)

Hanging strawberries are easy. I have a neighbor who hangs all of her berries. I plnt mine either in the ground or ina barrel. You can do this, go for it
 
Now in this catalog (Gardeners Choice) they have raspberry plant and this hanging strawberry plant.(Meanwhile I'm trying to grow these banana trees ~ GEEZ....) OK, I am going to order these....don't tell.... if I get another banana tree...."Honey, what's wrong with you?" oh nothing much ~ i ordered a raspberry plant and got...a banana tree :) I am going to PAY ATTENTION ! I need to get a new pair of glasses. :) I'm off to order plants ~ oh, but they're fruits. I'm on the wrong thread. ~ Anonymous
 


Wow. Something's way wrong and I don't get what it is. I saw it happen last May and I thought it was just bugs but I don't think so now. It rained and the yellow cannas had weird white spots all over the leaves. Then they died about 2 days later. It rained again and the holly bush died. Dunno what it looked like before it died - except it was totally healthy before it rained. But it rained 3 days ago and that was after the grapes got sprayed. The leaves had the same weird white spots and so did the tomatoes. The grapes and tomatoes were totally healthy before it rained. Now they're dead. The horseradishes died too and so did the orange cannas.
I'm gonna do all my gardening inside till I know what's happening. The outdoor gardens are almost totally dead and I can't find any reason for it.

There's another reason that I don't think it was bugs. We don't have any bugs. We don't even have any spiders. Me and my friends have been hanging out a lot this summer and that's day and night both. We haven't seen any and there's always tons of bugs and spiders here in the summer. That's really weird too.
I hope we're not getting acid rain here.
