I came up with 2 rafts tied to my feet but I shall try. I wonder if.......oh, I was going to say something stupid about pandas...never mind :)
 
See......someone else started this..... Suppose you worked at a zoo and wore bamboo socks (which I now HAVE bought but not received), would you be attacked by a panda? This is all LB's ~ :)
 


LB, we are postponing our trip to California. Our sister-in-law called yesterday and said she had to cancel her surgery. We will go down when she has that rescheduled and I will keep you posted on when that is. My wife's brother took a fall off a ladder and messed himself up pretty good and his wife won't have the surgery until he is in better shape.

Crabber, it's Mz Curbie's fault. LOL
 
Mz Curbie, I think I'd just give the panda the socks and run like the wind! Did you see the stuffed panda toys on the site? Really cute.. huh?
 
There was a comic strip a long time ago called "Andy Panda" and he had a girl friend named Miranda. My brother was given a stuffed likeness of Miranda in the mid 1940's and he didn't know what to do with her. Having a warped sense of humor though, he put an eye bolt in the ceiling of our bedroom and hung her up there using a hangman's knot. I think he still has her, but once he got married, his wife wouldn't let him hang Miranda in their house.

Sorry to hear of your brother-in-law's fall. My cousin (the transcriptionist) said 90% of her reports are trauma this month,the other 10% flu. Most trauma is from home repairs in October.

We will. Mick was trying to gtet some hay down for the horses, when the ladder fell. I asked him if he had part of the ladder sticking up past the hat bales and did he lean over and have the ladder come out from under him that way. He said that was the way it happend. It's a law of physics that when more weight is applied to one side of the fulcrum (pivot point) than the other, the lever (ladder) will react. The reason I am so smart about it is that it also happened to me once. But I came out of it with only a bruise and a wounded dig-nitty (dignity). LOL
 


Crabber, the batch of salsa that I made today was supposed to be a medium/hot salsa, but I think it qualifies for "hot". I can still eat it without chips or anything else, but it does get my attention. I had you and Tim in mind when I made this batch though and it is my intention to aim some toward Florida. Can you and Tim handle "hot" salsa. I can snag a jar of a "medium" if you prefer. Let me know what both of you prefer and I'll see if I can comply. I still have one more batch to make this year before I am done. This has been the first good salsa year for me in about 3 or 4 years. The last salsa I made before this year was at Christmas of 2007. This batch today is pretty good tasting stuff, but I do like it on the hot side. I forgot to mention though that the last batch of salsa I make this year will be a "mild" salsa. It will have a few (2 cups) jalapenos in it, but they aren't really hot ones.

Oh Randy, you are a great guy! Hot is good for us. We really enjoy the flavors of peppers and salsa is my all time fav way ! Thank you for thinking of us, it is so appreciated!

Oh I missed this. So sorry to hear about Mick. I can only tell you from experience "OUCH". I once was flipped about 12 feet from a scoffold on to a deck that was only framed. I thought I broke my back in the 99 degree temps of July by myslef. You learn those simple physics laws the hard way sometimes. Thank goodness I am way to old and hopefully too smart to get caught in those monkey traps anymore. The body could not take that too many more times.

Physics = If I go THIS way, I will fall THAT way so which way do I prefer to fall??? I have a friend who who is a house painter and when he was falling off the ladder, he held his paint bucket all the way down. He was very hurt but aksed me to go over and clean up the paint from this person's yard. "You MADE the mess, you clean up the mess." And I am the most clumsy person the Dear Lord ever created (but He understands). This happened over the weekend ~ we were traveling and when I went to get out at a rest area, my seatbelt was stuck into my coat so I could not GET OUT. Hubby said," I'm done helping you. YOU are the !!!!!!!!!!!!!! person in the world!!!!!!" Me="If you love me you'll get me out please.......cause i love you a lot....dear.....and i really have to go to the bathroom.....please....dear......i'll never criticize you again if you just please help me." ~ Warped humor???? ~ hm...... :)
 
It helps to carry a knife. Even if you just act like you are going to cut the seat belt, I bet he would have moved rather quickly. I don't know if you are aware, but replacing a seat belt costs about $200. I started carrying a utility knife several years back and those things come in handy very often and you can change the blades rather quickly when you need a sharp one. I bought my wife one of those small Leatherman tools and she really likes the utility of that.

Crabber, that's good. I'll get some headed that way in a week or two. I need to send a parcel to a little girl in Texas also. She is my older daughter's husband's niece. But she accompanied my son-in-law on a camping trip several years ago and when she found out that Ruben had not brought along any of my salsa, she really gave him "what-for". She probably isn't so little any more, but I need to get her address from Ruben and send her some for herself. LOL
 
Thank you for the information but if you carry a knife around DC to "un-hook your wife", you will simply make the news and folks will cheer ~ "HE KNIFED HER!" LOL! but I shall keep that in mind :) b/c I use an exacto knife all the time around here. I can hardly wait to tell my husband "Randy said you should carry a knife when traveling with me...." :) It's amazing how we stay the same age and it really is nice these kids grow up. ~ Curb
 
I think I would be lost without my knife. I have carried at least a pocket knife since I was in the 4th or 5th grade. Whittling on wood pieces from fruit boxes from the market was a major pasttime.
 
Randy, my dad ALWAYS carried a pocket knife. (and heaven forbid if we borrowed it and didn't hand it right back to him when we were done with it)
I carry a leatherman at work and would be lost without it
 
I also carry a medium-sized Leatherman besides the utility knife and I also carry a small pocket knife which I rarely use. I like the Leatherman for a quick answer to a need, but if I am going to be using a tool for awhile, I want the right tool for the job. I am a bit of a nut when it comes to tools though. I have a tool assortment for electrical work, another setup for plumbing, another setup for sheet metal, and then there are the mechanics tools. I get teased a lot about my tools. But I still use the set of tools that I bought about 54 years ago in my first year of marriage. They are a mechanics set that I bought from Montgomery Ward when I worked there.
 


It's one of those drizmal days outside here today. But it looks like a good day to attack those apples I have been putting off. I can get about half of them done today if I get off the computer. LOL
