3F and very windy with blowing and drifting snow!
3F will be our high for today with strong winds out of the SSW!
All the snow out over the lake is being picked up, and some heavy drifting is occuring as it comes on shore!
Couldn't get the driveway cleared yesterday as the snow blower is out of commission, so I am blocked in!
Can't go anywhere anyways with these white out conditions!!!
Windchill is around -30F!!!!
We had rain by early evening yesterday and through the night. It had stopped by the time I left the house this morning. We are supposed to have rain through Thursday though off and on and then dry up a little bit for the weekend.
Had gale force winds all day with blowing/drifting snow!
The winds continue tonight and for most of tomorrow, with blowing and drifting snow!
Looked like what you would see at the north pole!
Never got above 3F!
Now it is 1 dropping to -2 tonight!
Never even bothered to go out today, the shovelling can wait until these brutal winds end......which will more then likely be sometime on Thursday!
I HATE BEING SNOWED IN!!!
It rained fairly hard all night here. Warmed it up very nice 40 degrees theough the night. Still light showers warm enough that only a small fire in the stove.
Update:
7F...might get up to 10F.. Blizzard conditions continue with gale force winds out of the SW!
The drifts are are getting higher!
It was a noisy night with the winds!
Tomorrow: the winds expected to shift and come out of the south.....means pretty much the same but warmer, high of 23F!
Epic snow photos, Ron! It does look like the Arctic! Wish we had some here.
It's 32*F and going up to 54*F today. Keeps warming up till Tuesday then really cold again... but not as cold as Ron. We only got 1 snow this winter and it was all melted in just 4 days.
It is an Epic Winter!
Haven't had anything like this in decades!
13F with clear skies and SUNNY!
Light winds out of the south but that will change this evening with a sytem moving in.
Winds will shift back out of the SW this evening with snow starting. Snow overnight!
Won't be much 4 to 10 inches. but it will probably be blizzard conditions with strong winds!
Going up to 23 this afternoon and 25 overnight!
Have a water delivery around noon so need to dig out around the cistern again...ran out of water last evening!!!
Still cannot dig out the car with all the drifts across the driveway....will talk to one of the neighbors down the road, who has a tractor with a bucket, to do the job for me!
At least the winds kept the area around the car clear of snow!!!
I got a bad case of Cabin Fever!!
It is not all fun and sun living by the lake!
23F with snow overnight....then a break... then major snow on Saturday!
Had to turn the water pump off last evening because (I thought we ran out of water so order a load)!
I paid the fellow with a tractor to clear all the snow off the driveway...it was well worth the $20 he asked for! It would have taken me days!
Had the water delivered without a hitch!
Went to turn the water pump back on......no water....inspected the pumpand everything checked out....turned a valve to check the water coming in from the cistern.........not a even a drip!!! Problem is that the frost worked itself down the 3 ft where the the intake pipe is!!! and it is frozen! No solution to the problem at this time of the year! So we have no runnig water until the ground and pipe thaws out!
Solution to this no water problem is to bring snow inside and melt it and use it for the toilet, and washing the dishes..... and ourselves! Dam, no shower!!!
I really hate this winter!!!
I think I could tolerate a lot of cold if I could drop a line in that lake once in awhile. I have never ice fished but I would be willing to even giving that a try.
We had a couple of breaks in the clouds today but still got a little rain. We almost made it to 50 degrees so that's better than hanging around in the 30's for sure.
Yah! It really bites not having running water!
We use bottled water for drinking so it really is not a bad as it sounds!
Heading to town this afternoon for supplies and water!! It will be so nice to get out after more then a week of being snowed in!
28F
We didn't get any snow last night....yippee.... but will be getting a major dumping on Saturday!!
Probably be a mixed bag depending on the temp which is expected to rise to 36!
Just hoping we do not get freezing rain.....
It rained some here during the night but isn't raining at the present time. It's a bit cool out there right now but will warm up into the 40's a bit later. The rain is an off and on situation.
Temp is going up and down as this latest weather system moves in
Hovering around 31F, snow overnight turning to rain then freezing rain and then back to snow as the system moves along heading NE!
It'll be a mixed bag so we won't be getting much in snow total!
