Hey Deb!
It is the plastic pipe running from the cistern to the house that froze and I do not expect it to thaw until it warms up!
With the ground frozen soild there is no way to dig it up and thaw it out at this time of the year!
The pipe is a good 3ft down closer to the house, and over 6ft down at the cistern, but the frost has gone down deep this winter so froze the pipe!

@ Ron: Good call on the bottled water. :D Good you could get out too. I'd get cabin fever the first day.

It's 28*F here and only going up to 43*F today. We're getting a triple front and most of next week will be below 32*F with 3 days of snow showers and an ice storm! :D I only hate cold if there's no snow or ice. I just hope the snow isn't powder.

WOW Ron, is this an every year kind of thing? Will you have to put it in deeper come spring...I sure feel your pain ...

This is the first winter the pipe froze!
We've have over 30 days of single digit temps!
Our usual is around 10 or less!
We do have lots of bottled water for drinking and cooking, and have been melting the snow to doing dishes, flushing the toilet, and for washing ourselves....kind of reminds me of our campining days!
28F with no winds! Had a dusting of snow last night.
Expecting a high of 36 this afternoon.....maybe.....with a mixed bag then snow by early evening and overnight

pipes froze in some of the condos here.....but mine was ok......had about 5 weeks of
below temps.....hope yours is ok now Ron.....its been a rough winter on this side of the planet.

had no computer to keep in touch.......lost all my emails ......so if I email you.....
please send me a pm with your email address

Glad to see you back Trax. Woodie and I were talking about you a few weeks
back wondering where you was and had no way of contacting you to see if you was ok

It's been so cold here but was in 30's yesterday, 40's today and tomorrow, snow coming Tues in Wed, plowable
they are saying and could get another storm over the weekend

Wombat How much are Arnott's Tim Tam's over there.?
They are the best. I've had 2 packages given to me when
a coworkers mom comes over she brings him some. I
won't share....

Thanks! :D No issues here except I've been busy and had no time for gardens till now. But if you ever need to contact me, check the PM I just sent. Btw, I have no objections to my friends here knowing how to contact me.

It's 28*F again and cloudy. The high for today is 26*F with 2-4" of snow on the way! :D I hope we get even more!

Good to know Josh!

28F and that is our high for today!
The system finally moved to the NE.
We mostly got rain yesterday since we were on the warm side, now on the backside we're getting a light dusting of snow.
Next system is on its way for Tues/Wed, and another is tracking right behind it, so looks like we are in for a good dumping of snow this coming week depending on how these systems track!!!
At least the temps will be a bit more normal for this this coming week.....

its starting out with 30 today, which is a good thing after the past 5 weeks.....feels like a heatwave...its going up to 40...
they are talking a big storm on wed.....4 plus inches......then back to artic air, but nothing like we have had.....

They are talking snow for us Tues into Wed, suppose to be plowable
40's today, feels like summer after all the below zero temps we've been having
going thru oil like crazy and can't afford it...

Nice, it got up to 30F!!
Light breeze out of the west.
Heavy overcast skies.
This is the nicest day and a longgg time!!

I don't blame you for not sharing lol they're yummy!!! Which type do you like? I've enclosed a link as there's quite a few varieties...they usually retail for $2-3 per pkt

It's 18*F and cloudy and we got snowed! :D :D :D :D Got 4" of snow! It's powder but if it melts some later today, can probably still do snowballs! :D

19F
Winds are light out of the NE.
A few light flurries expected with a high of 23.
So far it looks like we might be getting anywhere from 2 to 6"s of snow starting tomorrow night into Weds.
We won't have to be concerned about snow squalls now that the lake is over 95% ice covered!
Last time the lake froze over was in the early 1990's!
