Expecting another snow storm by Sat/Sun.... details are still sketchy.....
today its sunny and 20.....but going up to 30.....hopefully it will melt some of this junk........the BIG storm for sunday has been cancelled......thankfully......we have enough snow now......dont want more......
We have clear skies and temperatures in the mid teens. That is expected to change this afternoon though with snow coming in. A warming trend, above freezing, is expected to start on Sunday. I think that is Monday in Australia.

the weatherman lied and we didnt see 30 today......only a high of 20 so little melting and what melts will freeze tonight......my ex boss who moved to fla, mentioned that he never saw so many tourists this winter.......and I can surely understand why....everyone wants to escape........

The DAMM winds are out of the SW again, coming in right off the lake!
All the snow that fell the other day is all being blown inland off the lake surface!!
Lots of drifting snow all afternoon and the winds are expected to continue all night!!!
I'm not happy as I have to to to town tomorrow and will have to dig out before I can get the car out and up on the road!!!

Am I the only one that thinks Ron is not happy? lol. Okay, I'll quit praying for snow. We're not getting that much and everyone else is getting buried.
It's 16*F and going up to 25*F today. We're on a warming trend... for now. We only got 4" of snow and some ice... so far.

no one in the NE is happy this winter.....Ive never heard such grumbling everywhere I go.......today its a big fat zero, with windchill factor of minus 10.....I think we have had enough torture......someone please turn on the heat.....
We are having winter this year. It is the coldest in a long time. It will not get to freezing until after lunch time. Not enjoying this.
we have 3 days of school counting today to make up. It isn't snow here although we have had some flurries but rather the ice and the roads. Yes it is icing up again today.
yesterday nevere got above 20 here..by the end of the day had 8 inches of snow..lost all services until early this am...temps today are at 27 and snowing already again
Hope everyone's surviving the NE snow storms. We still have snow cover but it's less than an inch.
It's 28*F now and going up to 38*F today so we'll probably lose most of the snow and ice. We get another small dip at the start of the week but basically, we're in a warming trend with 50's predicted for next week.
I'm gonna miss the snow and ice but we could still get more before spring.
We will survive Josh!
The winds finally died last night and now there is just a light breeze out of the WSW!

Now I have to dig my way to the car....the driveway looks pretty clear with no drifts....just need to dig out the top of the drive where the plow shoved the snow off the road!

I haven't moved my truck since Thursday. It stopped snowing during the night but the weather guessers are saying we will be getting some freezing rain today. I stepped outside first thing this morning to put some chicken feed out for the birds but I forgot to check the thermometer while I was out there. We have a 4' overhang on the front of our garage so it gives a bit of a sheltered spot right there with very little snow on the ground. I spread a couple of saucepans of chicken feed in that area and it is really a bird magnet. I'm not sure they could find any food without human intervention with the ground covered with several inches of snow.
My goodness, I have finally caught up from our holiday, came home and got sick came here to see what kind of weather everyone else is having. We have been having record breaking cold temperatures, got down to 12F on Wednesday night and daytime has not been above freezing until today, got to about 36F this afternoon. Thankfully, when it gets that cold here it is because of Arctic outflow from the inlets and it pushes all the moisture out to sea, so we get lot's of years with no snow at all, but they are saying we could get snow tomorrow into Monday. Of course like everywhere that doesn't get snow all the time, things will come to a stand still as everyone still driving around on summer tires causes problems Like Randy, we have been feeding the birds, and I have been melting holes into the pond to open the water for my goldfish. the ice is about 2 inches thick now! Ron, Love your pictures!! we were just watching the news and they were showing the satellite and saying how much of the lakes is frozen over now and it might break a record soon!
I sure miss being in Hawaii, I got used to the heat right about the time it was time to come home

It might get above freezing by Thursday, but I'm not holding my breath...they have be way off with their predictions all winter!
I didn't check the temperature when I went out to spread some more food for the birds but it did feel warmer than the past few days. It's supposed to warm up overnight to temperatures that are more in line with the usual January temperatures. the mid 30's through the mid 40's. We are still in line though for some more freezing rain.
We are still only 28F getting close to noon..... it did warm up enough that there was some melted water on the edges of the pond yesterday afternoon, but it froze right up again pronto when the sun went down. Still nice and sunny here which is nice, but I will be glad when it warms back up again even if it does mean yucky rain for a while I think hubby is getting tired of keeping the woodstove going around the clock, but we shut down our big gas forced air furnace a few years ago when the price of natural gas went through the roof and have relied on electric heat in each room. It was a much cheaper option for us as we only heat the rooms we are using, but if you have to have the electric heat turned on all over the house all the time to keep it warm....well that is expensive! so we are going through our stock pile of firewood now. They are still calling for snow tonight maybe 2 inches, but then in the morning as the low pressure moves in from the ocean with it's higher temps it will turn to rain, but because it is still frozen solid here they said it will be freezing rain so it will be a skating rink out there tomorrow morning. It is a stat holiday here tomorrow called family day so that's good most people will be home from work and school.
