As Randy said. the weather has been wonderful ..we hit 71 degrees Monday and Tues here ..Tues we were at the Portland zoo with short sleeves was wonderful. then over night Tues to Wed it rained here...but as the sun came out it cleared to blue skies and warmed to mid 60's tad of wine ...daughter and grands left yesterday ..so iit is just me and one grandson for a few weeks..
holy moly Ron, thats alot of ice......glad its breaking up tho.....
we had 62 today, sunny but no warm air like they talked about....the air is still chilly......rain for tonight and tomorrow.....
Interesting pics Ron thanks for sharing......cyclone will hit tonight around 10pm thankfully to the north of me. Unfortunately it's been upgraded to a category 5 which is the highest rating....eg up to 300kmh (185mph) wind speed.....86F today very unusual weather patterns here at the moment.
That is weird John! Your cyclone season should be over by now!!
48F and fogged in.
Now winds at all so far....
Going up to 55 this afternoon and should be sunny once the fog burns off.
It is weird to have ice on the lake in April....it is usually gone by mid-March at the latest!!
From what I can see through the fog the ice on the lake is slowly melting.....
Our Tree Swallows must have arrived last night, they already kick out the house sparrows from the small bird house.....have to put up the 2 other houses that fell off the oak tree in January due to the gale force winds!
We have another beautiful day in the making out there. It was 46 degrees when I stepped outside but will warm up at least into the 60's. The rain is supposed to return on Tuesday.
it was lovely this morning....sunny and shot up to 65.....warm and balmy winds.....but at 2pm rain came and the temps dropped to 50.....its foggy, damp and gloomy now......they say 70's this weekend and Im holding them to it...
John be careful with your crazy weather.....be safe.......and check in with us.....
weather here has been much like Randy's a little lower temps. very beautiful though. I have already put some geraniums outside on the deck! supposed to be a very nice warm sunny day tomorrow, which is perfect because it is our grand daughters birthday party and we will be travelling there for it. An outside party
No winds this morning.
50F and sunny!
Going up to 61 this afternoon..
The broken up ice will continue to move around depending on wind direction
Expecting light winds out of the SE later on with day time heating.
we hit pay dirt today.......70 and glorious.......all the windows are opened, and all my cleaning is done.....tomorrow will be the same, and I have the day to enjoy the sunshine......we so deserved this break......what a weekend this will be......
50F going up to a possible 70F!!!
Had some rain last night, even a thunderstorm, but it stayed to the west and missed us and sputtered out.
There are several huge ice sheets off shore this morning, all the broken up ice moved out last night.
They keep on calling for strong winds of 40 mph plus but they never happen!
We need a really good windstorm to break up the rest of the ice sheets......maybe later on today ......or tomorrow when a coldfront is expected to move in .....
The weather is very strange here. We hit 85*F today with strong T-storms and very heavy rains mixed with lots of hail. There was also a lot of circulation in the clouds and we heard that whining noise we always hear before a tornado drops. There were some tornadoes but that was about 2 counties SW of us. We lucked out but now we're dropping to 39*F tonight. http://www.news9.com/story/25236037/tornadoes-touch-down-in-sotuhern-oklahoma
Strange weather all over the place......cyclone hit but fortunately in a sparsley populated area of the state. The folks up north just went to the public shelters and waited for it to pass. Now the clean up begins.......windy with intermittent heavy showers today....80F
woke up to 70 at 8am.......our last beautiful day before the curtain drops.....tomorrow rain, wind and 50.....the same for the rest of the week....it sure was nice to enjoy outside....havent done that since oct.....
61F
Heavy clouds and starting to rain...
Winds are out of the SW....
Expecting light rain all day with a high of 64.
The ice sheets on the lake are a dark color as they slowly melt.
The winds are constantly moving the ice and new ice moved in last night from the SW.
Won't be long untill all the ice breaks down and disappears.....
Strange phenomena: The air over the ice is shimmering as the warm air passes over the cold ice....kind of like summer heat shimmer!
Too bad the shimmer doesn't show up in the photos!
