-6 with light winds out of the SW.....sunny skies again!!!
went down to -16 with a windchill of between -30 and -40.....
Today's high will only get up to 3F with a -30 windchill!!!
Heating the house is costing a fortune with propane .....they put propane on the market so it fluctulates from day to day, and it is high at over '50 cents per litre, especially when the demand is high!! I won't know how much until they fill the 2 tanks!! They are coming today to refill...and I dread the final price!!!
brutal out there today. the winds were whipping, snow was flying off roofs. 30 mph winds, and it felt like 30 below. I dont want to see my heating bill either Ron. but you gotta do it or freeze to death. we so need some warm temps. we may get some this weekend, but along with it comes sleet, freezing rain or snow depending how high it goes. I wish we would get just rain. I hope spring hurrys up, because the NE needs a good warmup.

I saw a lot of daffodils yesterday when I was out. We had a high of either 60 or 61 today with intermittent sun. Believe me, I am not complaining.

Yesterday and last evening was brutally cold with a good windchill!!
Got the refill and it's $325.24 ...ouch!
Yup! Got no choice in the cost!!! Gotta pay it or freeze!!
The latest Clipper arrived and light snow is falling....will get heavier snow this afternoon curtesy of a Texas Low....still not expecting much snow...maybe 2-3 inches, but it will be blowing around!!
Both systems will merge as they head east ...so keep your shovels ready!!
18F ...warming up to 23 this afternoon..... ...
High tomorrow 21.....low tonight 18....
Mondy we drop back down into the deep freeze with a high of only 3F ...then it moderates the rest of the week....
I'd love to see daffodils, but that won't happen for another 2 months!!!
no daffies here either, they are under about 3 feet of snow. maybe april!
zero this morning, and now at 11 the wind is whipping. waiting for the next storm that will come late this afternoon, or tonight. 1 to 6 inches. Im hoping for the 1 inch range. thats about all the snow I can deal with anymore. I see a snowflake and my blood pressure goes up!
another 5 inches of snow out there. we should see the grass in april. it is 20 tho this morning, and the snow on the roofs will get to melt. then tonight we go back into the deep freeze, below zero. ugh
we are up to 39 today, yippee yi ya. we so needed this melt, esp since the frigid air is coming back lateron tonight into tomorrow. deep freeze again.

Dropping down to -13F tonight with a hih tomorrow of 0F!!!
Hight tomorrow 16F!!!
It snowed pretty much all day yesterday with a total of around 3 inches, with just a light dusting early this morning!
Darn! Forgot to post this this morning!!
It's -3F right now with a wicked windchill! I'm heading to my warm bed!!!
it ws supposed to be below zero this morning, but its 10. Ill take it but our high will also be ten. no wind that I see yet, which is always a plus. still its a cold morning, and feb has been record breaking over here for snow and cold. lovely pics ron, and it looks very much like over here. pretty to look at, but not nice to be outside in. have a super day everyone!

Broke another record with the -13 earlier this morning!
At least the skies are clear and sunny!!

We had another nice day today. The sky was clear and there was a pretty good breeze out of the north so that made it feel colder. I was comfortable working out there though with my extra flannel shirt on.

Looks like we will be breaking another record tonight...so far it's down to -8F with a nasty -30ish windchill!
minus 9 here this morning, with wind chills of minus 35. the wind has died down now a bit, and the sun is shining. if it only had some heat to it!
even down in SC where julie is, they are having snow and freezing rain. crazy weather!

Broke another record!!!
1F and slowly climbing!
Expecting a high of 18F.....Clipper moving with some snow, but mostly strong winds!!
My greatest fear happened last night!!! The fireplace in the sunroom died....the burner went on it!
Moved the electric oil heater into the sunroom and the temp is now 51F and slowly climbing ....turned the furnace in the livingroom on high so it will be a while before the house is comfortable again...hoping the sun will come out and help heat the sunroom!!!!
I can handle 67 to 68......have to order new parts for the fireplace so hopefully I'll have the fireplace working again in a few days!!

update: after taking things apart and vacuuming all the carbon off of the parts...I inspected the burner and grate...the burner was warped with a small crack, and the grate was slightly out of shape....I vacuumed out the burner of any bits and pieces of mineral buildup and reset the burner and grate...and after fiddling around with it I light the pilot light and it worked!!!
I got heat again in the sunroom!!!!! Even though it is only a temporary fix I still need to order a new burner and grate......

I bet there is going to be a terrific winter kill on the wildlife back there this year. We had another day of unseasonably warm temps today. It only got up to 54 but that is about 10 degrees warmer than normal for February. The day started out clear but ended before sundown with an overcast sky.

Yes, Randy, I bet there will be due to the intense cold and heavy snows!
18F with a blizzard blowing for the last couple of hours, dropping to 7F once the Clipper clears out, and moves SE then east to the coast!
Morning temp expected to be arond 5F with light winds out of the west....
Im glad you got your fireplace going again. its 10 this morning and sunny. think we will see 25 today, and in the clear for the rest of the week as far as snow/ice.... we so needed a break, now if the temps would just go up and melt all this junk!

Thanks Woodie! The fireplace behaved itself and worked all night without issue......
19F and sunny!! Got the car dug out after last evening and night's blizzard!!
Didn't get much fresh snow...the storm just moved all the snow we already got around into drifts!
Had to dig the car out...nice that the winds mostly kept the area around the car mostly snow free...just had to remove the drifts so I could get around the car better....now for the driveway....especially up close to the road..still need to work on that so I can get out!!
Damm!! More snow on that way for tomorrow!! It will be more of a wind event with some snow, but mostly drifting!!
Dropping to 5F this evening and 3 overnight!! Going up to 12F when the weak system moves in from the northwestern states!!
I need to get to town for supplies, but it looks like Friday will be the best day .....
