Randy has a great idea! :) But you should leave it by that sunny window and not move it. If you move it too much, that might keep it in shock. Also, if the pot feels cool, wrap some Christmas lights around the pot to keep it warm. And def let it dry out. You can even put paper towels in the pot to help soak water outa the dirt. It should never stay wet more than 2-3 days before it dries up. :)
 
And I thought I was supposed to really give it a good soaking at first ~ I can't believe you asid that abuot Chsirtmas lights b/c now she sits in our kitchen Bay window which has....Christmas lights on it! Boy, talk about a project. Hope I get an A on this one :) . Curbster
 
I'm sure you'll get an "a" on this one Curbie. Trax is giving you great advice, especially about keeping the pots/soil warm.

She has a name. I won't sing to her any more so I am totally ignoring her. Her name is 'Brat'. She has shamrocks in with her for luck. :) Curbie (Man, I am SUCH a gardener......)

Hey well done young curbie, "brat" seems to have survived it's shock well, you may have to change her name though when she starts shooting up:)
 


I have bananas ripening at the base :) It's called 'encouragement'. Thank you guys for your support. I have stopped singing to my 'Brat' ~ now I only hum. But I think she likes the piano and the Pittsburgh Fight Song ~ HERE We Go! I have also begun to yell at her :) Curbie
 
She's about to give birth to a leaf via a caesarean section performed by Dr. Curbie :eek: Perhaps Mama or Lucky is a name that will suit her for a while. Go mamabanana!......:D
 
Personaly, i would have removed only the dead brown sections of the leaves down to the green.
It is very similar to cannas when I start them up in the spring. I just keep removing the brown over a week, or so, until a green shoot forms and pushes through.
 
The good news is ~ it is sitting still. We transplanted and gave away some shamrocks today. Guess wot? I ordered a new one :) Clever, eh? Crubs Strikes Again ~ You sent me a retarded banana plant. MTM said,"you can't keep getting plants that die...." OH WATCH ME ! :) Crubs
 
You ordered another one, is it the same type? Wow 2 new babies to look after now. Glad 'nana #1 is still alive.
 
I THINK it likes to listen to Tina Turner better than Jimmy Buffett! I honestly don't remember the type, Wombat so when it gets here, I'll let you know. For now, we'll classify it as.....the WRONG type! Curbie :)
