My seeds are starting to show in the greenhouse. The broccoli and B. Sprouts popped up in just a couple of days. A couple of days ago I saw my first tomato plants start to come up and the last to show have been the peppers. I should have 90 pepper plants by the time they all sprout. I'm trying a new one this year too. I have grown the Anaheims before and they are a good sweet pepper, but I'm trying some Anchos this year too. They are a little hotter than the Anaheim and are the ones used generally to make chili rellenos. For my wife though, I will have to use the Anaheims for that. I did some reading of keeping peppers after the season and the literature calls for roasting the peppers so you can take the skin off. Then dry them in the oven at 150 degrees. There was another way too, but that sounds like a good way. I'll put them in bags then and keep the bags in the freezer. That should give me plenty of peppers to cook with through the year.
I have many veggie plants up with second set of leaves Randy...can't hardly wait for fresh veggies out of the garden....there are lot of different flowers, vines growing nicely...the latest veggie a of late is cabbage & egg plant...I like to marinate it and grill. I just do bell pepper, red, green, yellow, purple to add color to my salsa, I use california wonder for pimento peppers....I just do jalapenos, cayenne, & haberno for hot peppers..
As far as freezing I just wash, dry, slice or chop and freeze for years...
I do roast pimento and a few others for different recipes....
I am wanting to find valerian for my herb garden....I have several new herbs started for this season that I am trying...
Shine it sure was wonderful to have a chance to talk yesterday...always a pleasure girlfriend... so wonderful to hear your voice....
It's 33° here at 4:44 am.....I think our high today is to be like 48°.
Hope everyone is doing well and you all have a wonderful safe weekend...
Peggy
Ah, Peggy...the pleasure was mine. You made my day, for sure. The call that interrupted us wasn't about a job...but I do hope to get THAT call this morning.
Pond froze overnight and snowflurries. Gotta love March weather. Glad y'all are talking about starting seeds...I am late starting my moonflowers. Better do today.
Enjoy this day, my friends.
I started some more different tomato and veggies yesterday. This time I have them in mini greenhouses that I didn't a few weeks ago. I started 12 peat pots and have 22 ready to start today. I have 24 peat pellets in a mini greenhouse to start and 30 square peat pots in a large tray to plant. Some of these will be my perennials and annuals. I hope to have everything started by Monday. Have a blessed Friday everyone.

I have a few peppers that have started to show their heads above the dirt. They are the slowest. It's been about 2 weeks since I planted the seeds. I moved the heating pad under one of the pepper flats yesterday. That will help get them to surface. It's exciting to see those little things coming up.
Morning all.....nice to see that the weather is getting a little warmer for some of you and you can get out into the garden. I'll be planting my winter veggies and flowers soon as it's definitely getting cooler here, 66F here last night, brrr!!! The weather has improved and the flood waters are receding also, that means all the furry and scaley ''guests'' that folk have had in their houses will hopefully go back to their various habitats. We had an excellent t/storm the other night courtesy of the cyclone. which has now disappeared thank goodness. Stay warm and well folks...til next time

We had a beautiful day here today, but I barely got outside. In fact, I need to get out to the greenhouse and water the plants before I forget about them. During the day, it gets up to 85 degrees in the greenhouse, then the fan comes on to exhaust the heat. Of course at mnight, it gets cold enough for the heat to come on.
John that pic beautiful....lightening is so very hard to capture ....or it is for me... Glad to hear you scley gurest and furry ones will be heading back to habitat... what kind of furry ones beside the wombat do you have there John..what kind of flowers are you doing for winter garden..

Shine I feel in my soul that your super great job is at hand...I feel things getting better and more better for you my friend... Have fun girlfriend and enjoy!
We didn't get any flurries here but my son 45 miles away had 3 1/2 ft... He is supposed to deliver my railroad ties today... I am excited .

Randy I don't use my greehouse anymore for my plants in the winter...I just use my sun room..it is quite big enough except when i start seed for spring/summer planting.....too much electrical expense that I don't choose to add to the household... I turned it into a gathering place for my husband to entertain his many friends. He is happy with it and that is what matters to me more.
Cliff and I are going to St Patricks Day bash tonight... I am looking forward to dancing and having a good time..
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend ....

Mainey, I am about 4 hours from Peggy. CabinGirls are still talking about our "Calhoun Adventure"! I have always wanted to see Maine...so you can bet I'll visit if I can figure out how. Can the Girls come, too? We're kind of a package deal, LOL.
Good news. I got a call about the job at the orthopaedic place. These doctors are the ones who take care of the Cincinnati Reds and other sport teams. I have a second interview Monday and feel good about this. Thanks, Peggy...and everyone who has shot positive thoughts my way. The winds of change have been blowing in my life for a while now, and I am excited. Broke, but excited!!
John, I sure hope all the crawly things head away from you. Jeez.
All you seed starters...carry on!!! Helps it feel like SPRING!!
50 but real chilly today, all cloudy. The birds sure don't mind. They are all twitterpated! I've been watching this starling clean out a squirrel nest...guess he has plans for a new pad.
Heading out in a bit to help the kids put border in my grandson-to-be's nursery. I'm proud of my sons for the daddies they are and will be.
Smile today. I am.

I'm shining, too.

And Mainey...was definately an awesome conversation we had. Hope you enjoy your flower show today. Wow, 16 hours is a haul. But...I never say never. One of my Girls has already said she absolutely wants to come!
To all my e-friends...I've said before how amazing it is to meet and develop relationships with people you probably will never lay eyes on. And people here think I'm crazy when I do actually make the trek to meet one of you. But...it's been all good so far...it does happen to be positive. Y'all...seen and unseen...are important to me and I wish you all well.
