Woodstock, you did just fine! Things look a bit different, but it works pretty much the same as the old one did.

Yup! Everything looks fine with this new format!!!
39F and cloudy...
48 for this afternoon.....calling for sunny skies so it might get above 48F....
Light winds out of the NW now that we are on the cold side of the front that passed through...

Some of our topics have a lot of posts. Obviously you don't want to start from the very beginning every time you read the discussion.

Here's how to find the first unread message:
Look for the little BLUE DOT at the very left side of the discussion list.

It's pretty small, but once you know what to look for, it's easy to find. As you hover over it, it says "Go to first unread message"

Another way to get there is via the "alerts" tab on the right side. It will notify you when somebody replies to a thread you've posted in or are subscribed to. When it does, simply click on the thread title, that will take you to the first unread post.

This is probably the easiest way for threads you've posted in.

It's 45 degrees here and raining. It is time to spray the fruit trees but can't do that unless we have better weather.

beautiful warm sunny day here, a real treat!! all the magnolia and ornamental cherry trees blooming against a deep blue sky, heavenly! I am sad to see my little pixie avatar looks funny and is not sparkling :( is there anything I can do to fix it? also Ron's very neat tree that goes through the seasons is stuck.

They're both related. This software doesn't support animated gifs, so Ron's tree and your sparkles aren't moving right now.

I may be able to add that feature at some point. For the moment, I'm not going to make many changes until we're sure the basic forum software is working right and running smoothly. Once we're comfortable that things are working, then we can add in changes.

Note that the avatars are much larger here. So while you can't, at the moment, do sparkles, you can upload an image that's larger and will look a lot more sharp and "in focus". I had to do that with my Cardinal, I went back and got the old one, but it was much too small, so when it got enlarged, it looked funny. The one you see now is actually a different image.

For example, you can try this one if you'd like, or I can change it for you if that's easier.
Her sparkles don't flicker, but they're pretty easy to see.

Since the new one looks so much better and matched the old one almost exactly, I went ahead and changed it, and here's the old one in case you decide you want to switch back. I think she looks pretty good now though.

Woodstock, I've swapped yours out as well, that small one was looking pretty fuzzy. Let me know if you'd rather change it to something else.

Glad you like it! Thought it was quite pretty myself.

Yes, the "little blue dot" is probably the thing I like least about the place right now. I'm trying to get an answer on how to change the size from "micro" to "visible to the naked eye, even before you've had your coffee." Of course once you know where to find it, it's not bad, but yeah, it's tiny!

Guess I will need to go look for new seasonal trees!!!
37F ....0nly going down to 34 tonight.

Ron. I could extract the four trees from your old one, if that would help. But I can't make it change like it used too...

Keep in mine though that you can now use a jpg, ie a "real photo" rather than being limited to the 256 colors in a gif. As an example, check out the tulips I've set mine to. You can get some really cool avatars now!

I like the new format Bob, thanks for putting in the effort! Still warm during the day.....85F humidity has finally disappeared but the ocean temp is still 75F, should be lower by now, will try and get some fish tomorrow as it's a public holiday here in Aus.

Wow! I'm gone for less than a week and I thought I clicked the wrong link! Thanks Bob! :D Awesome new format and cool smilies!
Even a "Like" button too! So when do we get skins?

The daffodils already bloomed here and now the Irises have bloomed too! Looks like spring!
It's 64*F her and we had T-storms last night so everything's watered. Going up to 74*F today but by the weekend, near 90! :D

I have the original Bob! Thinking I need a nice change. Will go through my photos and find one.

45F ...going up to 50 with mostly sunny skies!
Changeable winds today.... starting with light winds out of the south.....then out of the east later on this afternoon...

Crocuses are finally blooming!!!!:)

Thanks everyone, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. The like button is cool, glad we got that!

It is pretty small but I have been able to hit it on the first shot each time so far.

We had heavy rain through the night but I think it has stopped for now. It only got up to 54 degrees yesterday so I got a bit cold working out there after awhile. I saw the sun come up this morning but don't know if it will be obscured by clouds and rain all day or only part of the day.
