So I really want to start growing Bells of ireland. Tried last year with just a little success, but the seeds are soooo hard to germinate.

So I really want to start growing Bells of ireland. Tried last year with just a little success, but the seeds are soooo hard to germinate.
Either soak the seeds overnight in warm water, or you can sand a small hole in the seed case (and emery board used for finger nails works great). Then sow!
You can either direct sow in the garden, or in pots indoors to get an early start.
Thanks so much for that tip using the nail file. I will try that with some of my seeds..thanks.
