So my corn is looking really good. The ears are getting big and seem like they may be ready to start picking. How can I be sure my corn is ready to harvest?

besides pulling down the husks I used to look for them with dried silks. when they dry up is a good indicator that they are ready to start looking at to pick.

I agree with Lynand Randy & Kya. I first wait for the silks to turn brown. Then after they are good and dry I pull the husk back. I had a pretty good corn year this year. We don't eat a lot but we had plenty.
