I have a mexican petunia that is about 4 ft tall, should I cut this back low to the ground for the winter?

thanks Maggie, I will mine today . I acquired the mexican petunia from the fall middle tn plant swap, and didn't know, but I figured maybe it should be cut back.

I like to mulch them in real goo too. Roots tend to be shallow runners so giving them a covering against extreme cold helps. Not to worry , if something happens and they don't make the winter, just let me know. I have 1000's of them. I end up every year throwing them in the swamp when they over take a garden. I wiould love them to have a good home :D
 
thanks crabbergirl, I cut the bush back, then mulch them with 4 inches of straw and leaves.
