Thank you, your response is what I was looking for. Everything that I read and experienced, to join any type of soil organic matter significantly increased. I feel very good clay soil.
 
I also started off with bare clay. I initially used raised beds and spread gypsum along the bottom of the beds, it's a wonderful "clay breaker". I also planted a lot of comfrey as it's deep root system draws up a lot of nutrients from the clay below. I then used the comfrey leaves in the bed and also sowed green manure crops to replenish any nitrogen deficiency. This was complemented with aged chicken manure and grass clipping mixed together. I've never used any petro-chemical fertilizers or poisons and with a little care everything grows pretty well for me. The beds were gradually built up over the years and now I have 6 veggie beds and rotate the crops each season, so far so good :)
