Golden Bluebeard (Caryopteris x clandonensis 'Worcester Gold')

There are numerous cultivars but I like the golden yellow foliage of this one. Needs full sun to bring out the color. Needs very well drained soil in order for it to survive. Great for sandy soils.
Blooms late in the season when flowers are fading in the rest of the garden ~ from Late August right up until hard frost.
Needs sever pruning in the early spring before bud break. It blooms on new wood so nothing is lost with the severe pruning.
Will drop viable seeds that germinate in late winter/early spring.
Pot up the seedlings as they appear so you will have extra plants for the rest of the garden or for friends.
