When young, the leaves are reddish-purple. In summer its leaves darken, becoming a greenish-purple but in autumn the foliage turns a bright red. Its pink blooms stand out well against its burgundy color. Flower's are a pink fringe look.I bought this last summer it's a beautiful shrub.

I had to look that up USDA Hardiness Zone7 - 10

My mother has a loropetalum down front in a natural area that she's let go, and it's probably ten feet tall and a good fifteen feet around. It's stunning!
